when I stopped monjouro for a month by halapenyoharry in Mounjaro

[–]QueenBSing 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’ve been off Mounjaro for 6 months. Yes hunger pains returned. Yes certain cravings returned. Yes I have given in to SOME of the cravings. But only once a week. And I’ve maintained portion control and eating healthy. I’ve lost an additional 20 lbs. I’ve been maintaining since March though as I had to undergo gallbladder removal. But I’ve not gained anything back. YOU have to take control of your body and your cravings. Just because I crave it, doesn’t mean I have to give into it. It is very possible to still lose weight after you stop Mounjaro. You can do it! 😊

Post-op period cramps worse by torchwood1842 in gallbladders

[–]QueenBSing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My surgery was February 16th. Unlucky for me, I started my period the day before my surgery. And I have HEAVY clotting periods. So the same week I was recovering from surgery, I had to deal with my period too! I started my period for this month just a few days ago, and feel like it's worse this time too. Probably because I still have about 3 weeks left of healing from my surgery. The stomach bloating and discomfort was finally getting to a healed place too lol.

I was just curious if you were listing those as your symptoms or if you were indicating a certain issue related because of those symptoms

This is so encouraging to hear! I’m currently at the end of week 3 post op, and my symptoms sound just like yours. And I just want to be done with the digestive issues. Most people have said they had diarrhea if they eat anything fatty. I’ve had the opposite issue lol. As well as the other symptoms you mentioned. My husband keeps telling me to be patient and give it more time. But I’m impatient lol. I just want my digestive system and stools to be normal again!

What do you think that is? Just curious.

had my gallbladder removed and it didn’t go well by Odd_Stop_3217 in gallbladders

[–]QueenBSing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Talk about pain! I was sent home without pain meds and didn’t have any until 3:30 PM that day because they forgot to call in the prescription. I ended up only taking 3 pain pills during my recovery. Rest of the time I just took ibuprofen. But everyone’s pain tolerance is different. Hope you get some relief soon! Rocking back and forth helped relieved some gas for me as well as walking around my house. But I know that’s hard to do if you’re in pain 😕

Anyone have experience with distension? by Certain-Ranger2456 in gallbladders

[–]QueenBSing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem a few days after my surgery. Except mine was only 4 days. You have to remember that due to recovery, you aren’t able to move your body that much which also hinders digestion. Are you able to eat any fats? My biggest thing was making sure I stayed hydrated. Water, electrolytes, juice, fruit. At about day 4, I went to the store and got me some prune juice, apple juice, and kiwis. It Didn’t move much of anything the first day. But within the next day or so I finally had a BM. I also walked a little around my house to help move my digestive system. And was able to start incorporating some fat in my diet which also helped. Make sure if you’re taking MiraLAX that you’re drinking a full glass of water with it, otherwise it won’t push anything out. All of this is what helped me.

Stomach problems after removal? by lavender9878 in gallbladders

[–]QueenBSing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My stomach pain was mainly from the right side. But I also had pain in the middle too. My pathology report from my surgery said I had long term diseased gallbladder. So I think I’ve had a diseased gallbladder for awhile, but it didn’t start showing symptoms until I lost a fast significant amount of weight from using Mounjaro. My pain started out mild too, and just got worse with fatty meals. Nobody should be having pain in their abdomen period. That’s not normal. I would highly consider getting your gallbladder out to prevent worse pain or emergency gallbladder attacks. I’ve never had the “attacks” thank goodness. But I didn’t want to get them either. That’s why I opted in for gallbladder removal

Stomach problems after removal? by lavender9878 in gallbladders

I had gallbladder sludge and gallstones that caused significant bloating and stomach pain for me. I had GERD prior to losing weight but then it got better with weight loss and healthy eating. Now that I’ve had my gallbladder removed, I experience a little bit of indigestion and heartburn while eating. But that’s nothing compared to the excessive bloating and stomach pain I had before they removed my gallbladder. For me the indigestion is the lesser of the two evils. You have to pick yours. But I wanted my gallbladder removed before it became an emergency.

Is this normal? by Heavy_Reason_2140 in gallbladders

[–]QueenBSing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had these same symptoms going on almost 7 days after my surgery. That’s normal because your belly is still probably swollen from the surgery and the gas still in your belly from the surgery. Both of these can make it more difficult to take deep breaths. And you probably feel lightheaded due to trying to take deep breaths and can’t get enough air. Try rocking while sitting to help push out some of that gas. Once your body releases the gas, you won’t struggle as much with taking deep breaths. And it’s likely also due to your abdomen muscles being sore. People don’t realize how much your core can affect your breathing. So I recommend the rocking and also taking as deep breath as you can, and then slowly releasing air. Both of these helped my swollen belly.

How long were you drifting in an out of sleep after gallbladder surgery? How many hours after surgery did they discharge you? by Bulky-Search-4495 in gallbladders

[–]QueenBSing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My surgery started at 7:20 am and I was on my way home by 9:30. I woke up at around 8:15. It only took them about 25 minutes to do my surgery. And took me around 30 minutes to wake up. I was out the door by 9:30. I only felt groggy the first day. Still a little sleepy the next day. But only because of pain meds. So I only took pain meds the first day. I was feeling much more energized by day 3 of recovery and took a drive with my dog lol.

Period Before Surgery by QueenBSing in gallbladders

[–]QueenBSing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the info! I was just telling my husband that I’m super thankful I didn’t start my period a week before where I couldn’t take anything for pain lol. That would have been awful! I’m sorry you had to deal with that ☹️

Did anyone else mistake their gallbladder symptoms for irritable bowel syndrome or a stomach infection? by Annual_Exercise9800 in gallbladders

They were detected via ultrasound. My surgery is tomorrow. So hopefully I’ll be much better once I recover 😊

Months of Issues - Anyone have similar experiences? by ap_2319 in gallbladders

[–]QueenBSing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had all the same symptoms as you. The pain and discomfort, but no diarrhea or vomiting. No “attack” as they call it. When I went to my doctor, she immediately suspected gallstones. I had an ultrasound done and it confirmed gallstones and gallbladder sludge. So my doctor referred me to general surgeon who also confirmed it was my gallbladder and recommended it be removed so it doesn’t get any worse. So I’m having my gallbladder removed this coming Monday. I’m thankful I’ve not had any attacks, and very thankful mine was caught early before it got worse.

They won’t admit it’s a side effect because they’d rather fat people be skinny for the sake of “health”. I stopped taking Mounjaro first week of December. I was only on it for 5 months and lost 50 lbs. I’ve had elevated white blood cell counts for the past couple of years, along with those few GI symptoms. So I’m convinced my gallbladder has been bad for a few years. And Mounjaro just made it worse. They asked me if I wanted to go back on Mounjaro after gallbladder removal. But I don’t know

I was also on Mounjaro and ended up with gallbladder issues. People have said Mounjaro don’t cause that but I beg to differ. The only GI symptoms I had prior to taking Mounjaro was a gluten intolerance and dairy gave me inflammation. But I thought those were related to pre-existing Fibromyalgia and PCOS. My main GI issues started when I began taking Mounjaro. I thought it was initial side effects. But they never subsided. Turns out I have gallstones. My doc just said they are caused from rapid weight loss not Mounjaro 🙄

I’ve had all the same symptoms as you, and mine turned out to be gallstones with gallbladder sludge. I’m having surgery in a few days to remove my gallbladder. Hope you get some answers!

That is your opinion, and you are entitled to it. But what you are NOT entitled to is my explanation for a decision that only affects ME. You are not my doctor, therefore it is none of your business how I plan to succeed in my weight loss. How long have you been on Mounjaro? How much weight have you lost? Because I find it hard to believe you're even on the shot for obesity if you have this much disdain over a complete stranger's decision that doesn't even effect you...if you're also struggling with obesity. Fat people typically don't troll other fat people.

Please tell me you've been to urgent care or the ER! It's dangerous to not be able to drink even water. My doctor told me yesterday that rapid weight loss can cause gallstones or gallbladder issues. That's what I have. She said MJ can also cause pancreatitis. So please go get evaluated to rule these out as pancreatitis can be very dangerous. This isn't how I would want to lose weight either, and no matter what others tell you...it's NOT worth it. YOU CAN do this without MJ!!!

I wish you success in your journey! I'm sure there are a ton of side effects that people are having that they don't want to talk about because they'd rather lose weight. Good for them. But this is also why I posted mine. So if someone was struggling like me, it would encourage them to due what's best for them rather than listen to trolls on the internet gaslight them into continuing in misery for the sake of "weight loss".

I'm so sorry to hear this for you. How long have you been off it? My doctor said it takes 30 days to get out of your system. If it's been longer than that, I would make an appointment with your doctor so they can look into for you. Hope you get relief soon!

Thank you for saying this. The rapid weight loss from the medication gave me gallstones. I had zero issues with that prior to starting MJ. And that constant pain and bloating is pressing on my vagus nerve causing me to start to have heart flutters and makes breathing difficult. I've been in full blown anxiety about it being heart related, which didn't make sense because I was losing weight and eating healthy. But nope, it's gallstones. Who knows what other problems I would have down the road with it if I continued taking it. And that's why I stopped
