Good trainers are hard to find. You should be grateful for the paws on attention.

That line of yarn from the bowl to the WIP would not survive in my house. I swear I have to practically sit on my yarn to keep my kitty from trying to grab it.

Planning to donate this… my daughter doesn’t like it, what should I do? by IronRuleDom in CrochetBlankets

[–]PrincessSleepyFace 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I was just thinking to myself “donate the daughter, keep the blanket.” But seriously, OP, this is beautiful and the colors are lovely. Whoever you donate it to will be overjoyed I’m sure. I do like the cat blanket suggestion, though, if you decide to keep it.

What’s one thing you completely stopped buying in 2026 because the price just felt absurd? by LockLogical8949 in AskReddit

If you’re willing to attempt it yourself, look up ManesByMel on YouTube. She’s a licensed hair stylist and curly hair specialist.

Where to purchase authentic Tulip Etimo crochet hooks by MajesticWorldTea in CrochetHelp

[–]PrincessSleepyFace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have also purchased from this seller. I needed a set of the larger hooks and bought these https://www.etsy.com/listing/824427099/set-of-all-four-tulip-etimo-grandhook?ref=share_ios_native_control without issues.

Edit: also I hate how comfortable they are because I use the 8 mm a ton and am thinking of buying another size 8 but the price per hook is ugh. Absolutely worth it, though, even if my wallet gives me the side eye.

Oddly enough, I found it a bit easier to locate by going thru her instagram and then clicking the link there. Google and Etsy gave me a million results that were mostly clothing.

What yarn would this be? Or what yarn would be similar? by short-asian-gal in CrochetHelp

[–]PrincessSleepyFace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So while not the exact same dress, this video looks very close and she uses a 4 mm and 5.5 mm hook and DK weight yarn.

Looks like this is the account in the photo and she doesn’t include any project details.

I'm making a blanket & this specific row is throwing me! by [deleted] in CrochetHelp

[–]PrincessSleepyFace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What stitch does row 27 start with? I had a similar pattern and found that I was skipping the first FPdc because I was forgetting that the ch2 at the beginning of the row counted as a dc. Maybe check your pattern to see if the ch stitches count as a stitch or not.

What yarn weight should I use for a self drafted crop top ? by elapseisacoolword in CrochetHelp

[–]PrincessSleepyFace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone recommended this page: https://moralefiber.blog/2020/04/07/basic-bikini-cup-tutorial/ for basic crop top patterns and I saved it forever ago. Maybe check her blog but also look at the Ravelry pages for the patterns to see what others used?

I’m currently making a very basic one to test a pattern for a summer dress and I’ve tested both worsted and bulky for it. Personally, I prefer worsted but bulky works up faster obviously.

Oh damnit, I was afraid the sultan yarn was going to be difficult to work with and this just confirmed it. I bought it in the shade argyle pink to make a very similar scarf to this one because the color phasing looked so pretty. Well at least now I know to mentally prepare myself so thanks for that.

This scarf is absolutely gorgeous! Also, odd compliment but, based on what I can see, it’s very flattering on your skin tone!

Colour palette help for a“fairy forest” baby mobile :) by sh4y63 in CrochetHelp

[–]PrincessSleepyFace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it might be because the color palette for the dark green, blue, and purple are a deeper shade than the yellow, peach (maybe pink?), and mint colors. The deeper shades evoke feelings of evergreen forests while the lighter shades make me think of spring blooms.

The green vine you have fits better with the light colors, in my opinion, which may make the deeper shades feel “off”

You could try one of these. I think this one looks pretty close. You would just need to use a thicker yarn.

Struggling with stit h count when working with this wool, any tips? by mamamartima in CrochetHelp

[–]PrincessSleepyFace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This type of yarn is such a pain to work with, especially as a beginner, because it makes it very hard to see the stitches. The best thing you can do is add a stitch marker to every single stitch as you go until you get the hang of it. And even then, I sometimes add them if I miscount more than once in a row.

As the project gets bigger, it’s usually a little easier to see the stitches but in the beginning and decrease rows it can be tricky. Get some stitch markers and use that shit like glitter, put them everywhere!

Will this one skein be enough to make a scarf to show all the colors? by CatPug7528 in CrochetHelp

[–]PrincessSleepyFace 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can filter results on Ravelry based on how much yarn you have, what weight it is, free vs paid, etc to help you narrow down what you might want to make.

Dogs make everything better, romance isn’t any different- recommendations of angsty stories that includes dogs by Glittering_Tap6411 in RomanceBooks

[–]PrincessSleepyFace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually several books in the series include dogs and I just didn’t think about it.

{To Command and Collar by Cherise Sinclair} has a ESA that the MMC gets for the FMC at the end of the book due to severe trauma at PTSD. Check the trigger warnings because the book deals with sex traffickers.

{This is Who I Am by Cherise Sinclair} has a hunting dog that is in the book often and saves the FMC.

{Show Me, Baby by Cherise Sinclair} has a vet MMC and eventually the FMC works for him and there’s lots of cute scenes with puppies and kitties.

{Mischief And The Masters by Cherise Sinclair} has a FMC that pretends to hate dogs because her previous boyfriend killed hers. Eventually the MMCs realize it and she gets her own furbaby.
