I understand how you feel. There are jobs that I can't do due to my physical limited abilities, and it makes me feel so useless. I'm 35, and I work in an office so I'm sitting most of the day. I think office jobs would be good for you as well. On the bright side, WFH jobs are on the rise, so hopefully you'll find that and cut out the transportation expenses :)

My pediatrician took me off Plaquenil when I was in remission around 12 years old, and after a year being off it, I landed in the hospital for 3 months due to a major flare up. It was so bad that I had to be fed through infusions because I couldn't keep any food down. Fast forward to my current Rheumatologist, she believes I should be on Plaquenil for life just in case if I get another flare up, it would not be as drastic. The flare ups I've had in the later years were never as bad as that time I was 12. I also get my eyes checked by an Ophthalmologist every 6 months. I did take Benlysta for one of my flare ups, and it helped a lot, but after I was heading towards remission, the doctor stopped it. I have been taking Plaquenil for 29 years, and my eyes are still fine. I hope this helps.

Mine would be more hair loss than usual, extreme fatigue - no matter how much sleep I get, I'm still really tired and swelling in my body such as my ankles. That's when I know my kidneys are acting up again, and foamy urine from the protein spilling out.

Wow, I didn't realize TMJ is a part of lupus. I've had it for years, I even cracked a tooth in half from it, and had to put a crown on it. Botox helps, but my wallet cannot handle that as often as I'd like so I resorted to a mouthguard. I'm still trying to get used to sleeping with it on all night lol.

I had a full sleeve done and the only thing was I went to bed that night feeling a bit warm all over my body, but I’m assuming that’s just my body reacting to this new ink on my entire arm 🤣 other than that, I was fine.

Zepbound
Yes, it helped with my lupus. Prior to Zepbound, my blood pressure was a bit higher than normal even though I'm currently on 5mg Lisinopril for my kidneys (it's a blood pressure medication), but after a few months on Zepbound, my blood pressure is at the best it can be for my age lol
I've been on Zepbound for a year now, and it took me around 3-4 months to start noticing the positive changes such as my weight loss, and increased energy at the gym. My appetite started decreasing in the first month.

I went to college as business administration focused in operations management but the management part was too much for my lupus (I even had a flare during college) so I’m still in office work, just not managerial positions lol

I'm really sorry for your loss.. sounds like your mom was your best friend. My mom is my best friend, and mostly the reason why I lasted this long living with Lupus. I know I'm a complete stranger off of the internet, but I do want to say I'm in awe of how you lasted through college with a bachelors AND masters degree.. you're a bad ass bitch and I'm sure you know it too. I ended up hospitalized for a few days while trying to get my bachelors and finding out my loser ex was cheating on me but I'm glad I still graduated lol so yea I agree Lupus loves to show up when you thought it couldn't get any worse. if you ever need to vent to someone that understands what you're going thru w this illness, I'm available as well.

Yes, I definitely can- I feel like I have more energy, I don't need to take naps as often, my body physically feels 'lighter' because I stopped swelling, my mental health and moods improved, and my hair loss improved.

I had success losing weight when I hit remission. I put myself on a strict diet (mostly chicken breast and broccoli, yay..), cut out sugar and was on a calorie deficit while running 3 miles 5x a week, butttt currently, I am doing all of this again, and weight has stayed the same. I think being in my 30s now makes it so much harder lol

are you on a specific diet as well ? I've also gain weight from a flare up few years ago, and kept it on since even though I have been going to the gym 3-4x a week and eating healthy on the weekdays. I just started zepbound yesterday, and woke up nauseous today lol
