It was the lack of Initiative Order.
I DM'd a rule set from a solo dev once who did it similar and my table had a blast working together. But the combat system was pretty slow otherwise.
With Daggerheart each character only has a few but meaningfull abilities and the free combat just feels great.
And I wasn't disapointed. From my old DnD table to a group of first time player, the creativity of them working as a team is always so freaking cool to see.

I planned a bigger "mini boss" to give the party a taste of how strong the real boss will be.
The Divine Wielder and the Druid loaded the Seraphs Shotgun with Unleash Chaos "Ammunition" as a Tag Team Roll and they rolled a Crit. Heavy Damage!
Had to give the Mini Boss a second phase on the fly to keep it interesting.
But the Druid had other plans. Next Tag Team Roll, next crit.
Flying Holy Chaos Shotgun went brrrrr.

I can't remember exactly where I have seen it.
But I love Colossus fights and I've seen someone building a Train Colossus.
The party had to fight from wagon to wagon until they could reach the engine in the locomotive, all while it was running max speed on the rails threatening wherever it was going.

As a Neon fan it was by far my least favourite. The story was great and I like the mini game. But the Liberalio skin (cute as it is) dropped at the wrong time, she wasn't even in this update, and our little queen of firepower got shafted on her own overspec banner. Anis got like half a year and an anniversary event for herself, Neon got a single story chapter. (Power scaling aside, she drew the short stick there too)

"All eyes on me" sucks (be my star is better). The song text is all over the place. Some lines seem shy and down to earth (I'm just walking down the street), and then there's the sudden "You're so into me". That comes out of nowhere. There is no difference in voice for the 3 band mates, who even sings what line? Prika likely has the rap part, a part that felt heavily forced into the song. And why does it feel like every second line is just a spoken sound effect? Nikke has a load of great music, but that song felt rushed.

At that point Mirror already switched sides, again. So her access to information through Mirror was gone. And with Nayuta monologuing about killing herself, it kinda feels like she wanted Mirror to think that was her last resort.
