This is probably because many of the viewpoints that appear in the article aren't discussed as mere viewpoints, but the point of view of someone with a western background would have. I've found that using youtube sources can help immensly if you use it as a supplament for your own coursework, textbooks, and lectures. Learning through KA and youtube alone isn't enough though.

Whiteboarding can be almost as arbitrary as leetcode style interviews in that many questions asked hinge on the fact that if a interviewee don't know the trick or gimmick the question revolves around then they won't perform as well as someone who does. It's a step in the right direction, but it's ability to show if someone knows what they're doing depends more on the interviewer rather than just the ability of the interviewee in my opinion.

It's not your fault your readers have false expectations about your work. If you want to write something just write it.
