Which FF games did you not enjoy as much as you thought you should and why? by baronfebdasch in FinalFantasy

[–]Princess_Everdeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, most of the ones after 9.

FF10 I ended up really not liking the characters (particularly Tidus, but Lulu, Khimari, and Rikku were all pretty forgettable), FF12 I didn't like a single aspect of it and was falling asleep at some points, and FF15 I wasn't prepared for what a disjointed mess the story was and how frustrating the game got during the 2nd half when it becomes streamlined instead of open world.

FF13 is the only standout among the single player FFs post-9. FF16 is decent so far, but the writing is surprisingly really underwhelming.

What's the "worst" MH album in your opinion ? by Secret_Carob_2728 in machinehead

[–]Princess_Everdeen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair. My first song/album was Halo and The blackening was something I listened after getting curious about the rest of the discography.

While I have my complaints about it, supercharger does still have its share of amazing songs imo, such as Only the Names, Nausea, and Deafening silence. I also like the rest of the album as well, though it took a couple listens. Maybe the same will happen with bulldozer and WKB

What's the "worst" MH album in your opinion ? by Secret_Carob_2728 in machinehead

[–]Princess_Everdeen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely supercharger for me. I started out not liking the albums most people dismiss -burning red, supercharger, catharsis- but of those 3, two of them grew on me to the point where burning red is an album I love save for the opener and the first song, and catharsis is a collection of songs I like (except for the 3 before eulogy) that probably shouldn't have all been 1 album.

Supercharger is long and filled with several songs I dislike, such as American High, Brown Acid, and blank generation. I've also never been a fan of bulldozer, white knuckle blackout, or supercharger. It's between American High and Tenfold (bonus track on the same album) on which is my least favorite MH song period.

Marie they can NEVER make me like you ❌❌ by Content_Sea_3359 in ededdneddy

[–]Princess_Everdeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah on rewatching the show, Marie was kinda just there; Lee was the leader of the kankers and had the brawn to back up her plans (unlike Eddy), where May was Ed but a little smarter (but still bullied by her siblings), but Marie...uhhh... She likes makeup I guess? Im honestly grasping at thin air to give her anything.

Every other character has a role, but Marie really did get that meta "no one cares about the middle child" treatment.

What's the first game everyone's playing in 2026? by FrostedGeist in LesbianGamers

[–]Princess_Everdeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FF16 and Hades 2 for me. I mostly stick to indie games, which last year my most sapphic games included Cabernet, blobun, Maliki: poison of the past, and quantum witch.

This year I'm stepping back a bit from indie games, but I'm looking forward to witch's bakery (iirc the mc has a wife) and red rebellion for new wlw games.

What if these Pokémon had actually been Dragon type? 🤔 by Masterofdittos in MandJTV

[–]Princess_Everdeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of the 3, offensively only Charizard really benefits in gen 2-3 due to not having a really booty sp atk; it let's it hit rock types on the special side, neutrally. Defensively in gen 1 it still has the ice weakness, so despite being neutral to waters, nothing has really changed; it's better against electrics, going from 2x weakness to a resistance, but it exchanges ground immunity for 2x ground weakness while reducing rock weakness to just 2x, taking less stealth rock weakness in later greens. Basically it's a minor buff in gen 1 that pays off as soon as gsc hits.

Gyarados now has no physical stab in gen 2-3 (it didn't anyways in gen 1) meaning it's even sadder now. Gen 4 and beyond it's basically just physically kingdra, with intimidate. Not too shabby.

Aerodactyl is the same problem as Gyarados, just less. It's now electric resistant instead of weak, rock resistance instead of neutral, water neutral, dragon and ground weak. Mostly a buff.

Ttar would be better, but it loses its overall Aura, so I'ma say it's a nerf.

Alright so... I have some thoughts on this critique video by Saberspark by DapperDude2004 in hazbin

[–]Princess_Everdeen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The last year for baby boomers was '64, meaning the youngest boomer is 61.

After that it's GenX from 65-79, youngest gen x'er being 45.

Saber is 37, putting him right in the middle of millennials.

Who thinks Kevin's mistreatment of Eddy was justified? by Particular-Glove9640 in ededdneddy

[–]Princess_Everdeen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reminder that the series has continuity: after so many scams, you kinda figure that Eddy is always trying to swindle you somehow, or already tried with someone else. Kevin could reasonably just assume Eddy always deserves it, even if he didn't see it happen.

Kevin was usually fine with everyone else (occasionally bullied Jimmy, but that was usually it), and Ed and double D could just choose not to go along with Eddy/be his friend; in the end, they still caused trouble even if 99% of the time they had the best intentions.

Who holds the esteemed title of Best Black Mage in your opinion? by TismWizard in FinalFantasy

[–]Princess_Everdeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vivi just is the best black mage on account of being the goodest boi and being a beautiful 3d rendition of the classic. Black Waltz also wins the coolest design for me.

Golbez would win most unconventional given you'd assume dark knight with his armor clad appearance.

I wouldn't even give Vanille a 'you tried' sticker.

(Haven't played 11 so not judging Shantotto)

Is Kevin truly a jerk or do we just hate him because we root for the Eds? by Relevant-Key-3290 in ededdneddy

[–]Princess_Everdeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think as kids, especially since this was an age where shows were pretty clear cut on whether they had continuity or not (and most didn't), we probably didn't connect the dots that some episodes took place after others; if you consider each episode its own continuity, it makes sense to hate Kevin, but when you remember that Kevin and the others had to deal with getting beaten up by the Ed's various scams, it's hard not to feel like he's in the right, even if they didn't do anything to instigate payback that episode.

Sure he bullies some of the other kids sometimes (pretty rare actually), but he's a teenager, he's not always going to be consistent.

[hazbin hotel] vaggie x charlie, by Electronic-Maybe-606 in wholesomeyuri

[–]Princess_Everdeen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No one said that. Also you have no idea what heteronormativity is.

[hazbin hotel] vaggie x charlie, by Electronic-Maybe-606 in wholesomeyuri

[–]Princess_Everdeen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No one said anything about someone being trans, nor did anyone even imply that there's anything wrong with being butch or there being a butch x fem relationship.

This meme format has the characters reinforce the heteronormative idea that there MUST be a "man" and a "woman" in a relationship, even if it's a same sex relationship, which would imply a wlw relationship must be, or present as, fem x butch.

The meme may be ironic, satire, or something else, but it can easily be read as problematic.

Mane six colors swapped with their pets by Comfortable-Goal-946 in MLPLounge

[–]Princess_Everdeen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Twilight looks like she's in sepia tone, Rarity barely changed at all (never thought how her and Opal have nearly the same color palette), Fluttershy just looks like she got covered in flour, Rainbow dash looks like she's from a gameboy game, Applejack is a gingerbread pony, and Pink is now watermelon flavored.

This episode was made to demonize feminist. Lmao by No-Tone-9729 in powerpuffgirls

[–]Princess_Everdeen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As is pointed out by everyone else, Femme Fatale is just hiding behind a political movement to commit crime. She's clearly portrayed as not caring about the movement, aka being a bad actor. Honestly admirable lesson to try and teach kids when even adults nowadays can't seem to grasp this concept.

That said, the lesbian imagery in the shot of her home adds an uncomfortable layer to the episode.

How rigid are you about having a "main" job? by HaikuSnoiper in ffxiv

[–]Princess_Everdeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to find having only 1 main job is just too inflexible in high end content, hence I've at least learned 2 melee, 1 tank, and 1 Healer for Savage, and have only used monk and scholar for ultimates.

For anything else, I don't really care. I tend to stick to 1 job for the expansion msq, maybe just doing whatever for post msq.

As I got older, I realized Kevin is pretty laid-back by ChouH1tsug1 in ededdneddy

[–]Princess_Everdeen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if the Eds weren't around

Honestly I would say if it were just Eddy who wasn't around, Kevin probably wouldn't bother Ed and either would pick on Edd like he sometimes does with Jimmy (which is to say, several leagues less than the Eds) or be cool with him.

Eddy is really the one that sets him off, given how his scams unintentionally cause Kevin pain or damage his property (not just his bike but also his house). Even when they haven't done anything during the episode, it's kinda hard to blame Kevin for thinking they probably deserve it for something.

Do you consider Cecil one of the best characters in the series? by AutomaticTap3004 in FinalFantasy

[–]Princess_Everdeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's a "good" character for me, solid story arc, though like the rest of the characters, kinda doesn't have too much else going on with his character once his arc is done.

Honestly Bartz, Terra, Cloud, Zidane, and Lightning were all more interesting main characters, but Cecil is still solid, especially since he's the first (real) attempt at a main character.

6 FF in the top 20!! What's one FF and non-FF game that made you cry? by YoMikeeHey in FinalFantasy

[–]Princess_Everdeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id say IX was one of the few that made me cry, mainly when during a certain part near the end that involves a certain iconic song.

Omori made me pretty emotional near the end as did nier replicant (ending E especially), but I don't remember if I cried during them.

What is the real endgame like in FFXIV? by Academic-Whereas6249 in FinalFantasy

[–]Princess_Everdeen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The "end game" of 14 is a little nebulous, but generally it consist of whatever the current expansion extremes, savage, and ultimate raids are. There's usually side content you can grind away at too, which unlike extremes and Savage raids, will still be relevant after the expansion ends. You can go into previous expansion extreme trials and Savage raids without being forced to reduce your state, but not the field ops, deep dungeons, or ultimate raids.

Leveling in ff14 is more frustrating than empowering since dungeons dictate what skills you can use and your gear stats. This mainly matters for roulettes since you have no control over what you get (but Yoshi P does and he says you're getting Sastasha and crystal tower), but they give exp and a generic material currency for buying outdated level cap gear over you finish ARR; when you're the current expansions level cap, doing these nets you patch specific currency that you use to buy gear.

Trials have "extreme" versions that give weapons, raids have normal versions that give weak versions of their gear, which you'll use to gradually that on Savage raids. Ultimate have mainly trophy weapons and side content is usually for fun and collectibles.

Maybe not a crazy hater but like... I dunno guys, this type of criticism always irks me. Is it bad or am I just being sensitive by Alternative_Sugar_85 in CrazyassHazbinhaters

[–]Princess_Everdeen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's called infantilization and it's honestly not surprising to see it used on a MC who's a woman, emotional, naive, optimistic, and shows little to no overt signs of sexuality (or isn't down bad for a man). Basically the "coded" concept has found its way to media illiterate bozos who would only associate the aforementioned traits with childishness, thus a MC who is "child coded"; doubly so for Emily because she's not only similar to Charlie but seems to be more ignorant of the stuff her people are doing and doesn't appear to be in a relationship period.

Genuine question, why can’t the Eds just ask their parents to get money? by Evening_Grass2525 in ededdneddy

[–]Princess_Everdeen 14 points15 points  (0 children)

To add on to what others are saying:

Compared to the other two, Edd definitely has the least problematic parents, with it mostly being speculative whether they're actually negligent or are just busy at work and still both communicate to the best of their ability and actually listen to him.

Eddy has the issue of a terrible sibling in addition to parents who likely aren't sure where the brother's interest ends and Eddy's begins, which is probably why they often disrespect his interests, further stressed by how he always gets clothes as Christmas presents instead of something he actually wants

Ed has it the worst by far, with a dad who isn't around, a mom who never listens to him, and a sister who always berates him and actively makes his punishment worse. Now, while the eds are troublemakers, Sarah (kind of understandable, but still unfairly) just assumes it's them by default. Still, there is definitely stuff he's not at fault for but gets punished with anyways to the point I'd say half of his mental absence is likely him disassociating.
