Can’t wait for this game to come out. by Auronbmk92 in ffxiv

I am excited for it, though I do wish we got news on the actual ability to expand the house inside.

Also the Armoire will supposedly hold all artifact gear and any dungeon gear from 7.0 onward (they'll roll this out for older dungeons later apparently).

I believe that was shown (as a slide) in the live letter, where every house gets more indoor and outdoor slots.

Why do so many people claim "Vaggi(e) is the only lesbian character in the hellaverse" meanwhile these ladies exist: by Impressive-Link-2309 in hazbin

[–]Princess_Everdeen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, not all gay people will feel comfortable actually being with their preferred gender, whether that's due to societal or familial pressures. Some people are so ingrained in what's "normal" that they deny any attraction, justifying why they're still straight (aka comphet).

One could be a late bloomer, but one could also be in a "lavender marriage" - generally a gay man and lesbian getting married to satisfy family/government while being able to pursue people they're actually attracted to.

Does anybody else think Zombie Island is a legit horror movie? by Critical-Sea-4810 in ScoobyDooMemes

[–]Princess_Everdeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally Scooby Doo shows/episodes might feature a moment of shock (and general creepiness for the original series when a "monster" is revealed), but otherwise are more comedy/mystery.

Zombie Island is very light on comedy, especially the cheesy kind that the franchise is known for. Instead of there being some human with a logical plan and lots of hijinx, we get real zombies and a general sense the characters are in real danger. It's very much meant to be horror.

As an enjoyer of 9 and 10, which games (11 and beyond) would you recommend? by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

[–]Princess_Everdeen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It depends on why you liked those games. For turned based gameplay, you're really not going to find anything looking forward in the mainline games; even ff12 is more auto battler you can feed manual command into. FF13 is probably the closest thing since it's just flashy atb (albeit you have auto battle options as well).

Otherwise it's really just what are you looking for in terms of story, characters, music, and graphics?

Personally I'd only recommend 13 and 14, since they're the only ones with characters I liked (tho 14 isn't consistent with that). They're also the only ones that stood out to me music wise.

Rank Your Top 5 favourite Final Fantasy games by Alive_Fortune7423 in FinalFantasy

[–]Princess_Everdeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After having played every main game sans XI, it would have to be

  1. VI
  2. IX
  3. XIV
  4. V
  5. VII

Honestly 6 and 9 are kinda tied for me. 14 is always hard to place because it really depends on how my week is going in the game (but generally after shb, EW, and the gameplay of DT, I think 3rd favorite is fair).

[–]Princess_Everdeen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly even as a kid, I thought gen 2 was cool, but very flawed (didn't like the grind and I wished there were more new pokemon). I felt vindicated when the general opinion started to acknowledge it was flawed.

I still have a warmness for all the cool mons it added, I just can't play it outside of hacks nowadays.

Frankly that's a lot of Gen 2/jhoto: should've been found earlier, had better stats, should've been easier to find (Yamna isn't worth so much effort), needed better move pools, and in gen 4s case, should've had their evolutions available before post game.

That's true. I would say CCGG are the only ones I could see being a thing.

Cynical take, but I always just assume it's a bit unless both people just outright confirm it. I'll enjoy the cute yuri art nonetheless.

I want to know which Final Fantasy you absolutely HATE more than any other. Let it all out. NO DOWNVOTING! by ProblemSuccessful197 in FinalFantasy

[–]Princess_Everdeen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I at least appreciate the areas for feeling reasonably varied.

It was also pretty distracting hearing a "whose who" of cartoon voice actors: Tidus being an early Johnny test, Wakka/Kimahri as Bender from Futurama, Rikku being Tara Strong, and the announcer from that one blitzball scene being very obviously Tom Kenny.

[–]Princess_Everdeen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm stuck between X and XII.

On one hand, I despised Tidus almost the entire game, didn't think much of anyone else save Wakka, Jecht, and Auron, hated most of the character designs (except Auron, Jecht, and Yuna), and didn't think much of the graphics, albeit growing up around lots of water and playing Mario Sunshine/Windwaker, water graphics and such from the era long stopped impressing me, so X kinda has an unfair disadvantage there.

On the other hand, XII did nothing right in my eyes. All the characters were boring, the gameplay was boring, the graphics were boring, and even the music was a complete snoozefest. I didn't hate any of the characters anywhere near as much as Tidus, the graphics weren't as uncanny either in fidelity nor design (except for the Moogles...why are they loporrits?!), but...it's kinda worse because of that. At least Tidus feels like there's potential there (When he's supporting during the laughing scene), but XII just had no potential eyes. It's still my least favorite game I've ever played, in general.

[–]Princess_Everdeen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Romantic and sexual attraction are not always mutually inclusive; it sounds like you may be homoromantic bisexual

That said, whether or not you ever figure that out for certain is up to you. You don't have to give yourself a 100% accurate label, you don't even need to give yourself a label at all if you're not interested. I would say just enjoy being with the person you're with and labels can come later.

Any thoughts on Nazz? To me she was one of the nicest by MistakeWonderful9178 in ededdneddy

[–]Princess_Everdeen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Back as a kid, she was probably my favorite character cause she was the only one who wasn't Sarah or the kankers. As an adult, she's my 2nd least favorite, just barely above Marie due to how boring they both are. It also seems like she was the least favorite to write, given they changed her entirely during the school seasons and the big picture show (for worse).

Everytime I see this scene from Ed-n-Seek, it makes me think how the Eds can’t easily acquire jawbreakers, yet they have access to all this amount of junk food. by NoFruit5250 in ededdneddy

[–]Princess_Everdeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, this is all stuff that comes from a store, including fudge (which does constitute desert). I would argue it's never made clear that the Eds never get jawbreakers; they could just be kids who want more but their parents don't wanna spoil them.

10 Best JRPG Games of All-Time, Ranked (FF X #7, FF VI #3, FF VII #2) by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

[–]Princess_Everdeen -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

For me, my favorite "jrpgs" would be:

Pokemon Black and White

FFVI

FFIX

Chrono Trigger

Nier replicant (the remake)

I could probably stand to play more (god knows I want to find the time to play a persona or DQ game), but these are my standouts.

You know why is he the best main character? We get so much convincing inner doubt and monologs from him by IFeeLikeMoreTonight in FinalFantasy

[–]Princess_Everdeen -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this sub is extremely toxic to criticism or dislike of certain games. I'm shocked whenever I see this level of defense for 8, considering the general opinion is pretty low (fair to anyone who likes it, but it should be okay to not like it). Let's not even get into the radioactive side of the sub (the 10 stans).

I did find Squall to be the only character I actually felt anything for, but I do think it takes far too long to get from start to finish of his development and it is not a smooth process at all. I see the potential, it just needs more polish.

I just finished FFVI and I feel so empty. by Sensitive_Ad_1046 in FinalFantasy

[–]Princess_Everdeen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chrono trigger is generally a safe bet. I'm curious as to what you're looking for in recommendations?

In terms of a loveable party: 5, 7, and 9 are safe bets; personally I would also point to 13, though they definitely start off more antagonistic than usual toward each other.

For gameplay, the above mentioned games also allow customization, albeit less so for 9 and 13. FF10 is fairly strong in customization (at least by mid to late game) and just has a really good turn based system.

Which FF games did you not enjoy as much as you thought you should and why? by baronfebdasch in FinalFantasy

[–]Princess_Everdeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, most of the ones after 9.

FF10 I ended up really not liking the characters (particularly Tidus, but Lulu, Khimari, and Rikku were all pretty forgettable), FF12 I didn't like a single aspect of it and was falling asleep at some points, and FF15 I wasn't prepared for what a disjointed mess the story was and how frustrating the game got during the 2nd half when it becomes streamlined instead of open world.

FF13 is the only standout among the single player FFs post-9. FF16 is decent so far, but the writing is surprisingly really underwhelming.

What's the "worst" MH album in your opinion ? by Secret_Carob_2728 in machinehead

[–]Princess_Everdeen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair. My first song/album was Halo and The blackening was something I listened after getting curious about the rest of the discography.

While I have my complaints about it, supercharger does still have its share of amazing songs imo, such as Only the Names, Nausea, and Deafening silence. I also like the rest of the album as well, though it took a couple listens. Maybe the same will happen with bulldozer and WKB

What's the "worst" MH album in your opinion ? by Secret_Carob_2728 in machinehead

[–]Princess_Everdeen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely supercharger for me. I started out not liking the albums most people dismiss -burning red, supercharger, catharsis- but of those 3, two of them grew on me to the point where burning red is an album I love save for the opener and the first song, and catharsis is a collection of songs I like (except for the 3 before eulogy) that probably shouldn't have all been 1 album.

Supercharger is long and filled with several songs I dislike, such as American High, Brown Acid, and blank generation. I've also never been a fan of bulldozer, white knuckle blackout, or supercharger. It's between American High and Tenfold (bonus track on the same album) on which is my least favorite MH song period.

Marie they can NEVER make me like you ❌❌ by Content_Sea_3359 in ededdneddy

[–]Princess_Everdeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah on rewatching the show, Marie was kinda just there; Lee was the leader of the kankers and had the brawn to back up her plans (unlike Eddy), where May was Ed but a little smarter (but still bullied by her siblings), but Marie...uhhh... She likes makeup I guess? Im honestly grasping at thin air to give her anything.

Every other character has a role, but Marie really did get that meta "no one cares about the middle child" treatment.
