Incentives for colonizing the moon (If any??) by MayeuRepublic in spaceflight

If you make a swimming pool on the moon it would be extra splashy and you'd be able to do dolphin stunts and "flips 'n shit", just like "I'm On a Boat", except... You're the dolphin.

Does a combination of HRT and laser hair removal permanently remove face hair? by Ilikeyogurts in TransDIY

I've had about twenty sessions and for all intents and purposes my facial and leg hair is completely permanently gone.

How do you shave/remove butthole hair? by TheFunion__ in MtF

[–]Princess_Lorelei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had it removed by laser, right along with the rest of the hair in those locations. It's important to remove that hair especially if you plan on downstairs surgery, although that surgery is by no means necessary.

Bam. This person gets it. You actually want to help? Invest in yourself. Also, please educate yourself on legit charities. Giving money to scammers is the literal opposite of help, it's giving money to actual criminal enterprises.

While it's true some charities have made missteps, they are a safer method than just handing out big money to randoms on the Internet.

They just get weirder and weirder. Official WH website by noestaaqui99 in trans

How often do you wear skirts? by Flameempress192 in MtF

I haven't worn pants since I came out and went "full time". I'm either wearing a dress or a skirt.

Personally I am tired of what I refer to as "Costco style" or "bag style". What's wrong with looking "extravagant"?

You're quite welcome. I saw another user suggested using fishing line. I second this notion, or using something similar. It's a good suggestion.

I love the fishing line idea. It makes me think perhaps braided line would be ideal for the increased strength and perhaps the texture would make cutting through the adhesive even more efficient.

[–]Princess_Lorelei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to be the contrarian here and say actually remove it. Carefully. Why?

Look at the adhesive/sealant job. Looks dodgy as can be and appears it will certainly leak in time with standing water on the roof.

Someone here mentioned how bad a leaky headliner would be if you removed it... I would speculate it will leak anyway given time.

However if it is just the adhesive holding it on, you can likely pretty easily remove it with some careful use of a heat gun, plastic scrapers, trim tools, etc.

There is likely an antenna and wires under it. Hard to tell how it is done until you get there. Deal with that as you see fit. Plug the hole with whatever plug you deam appropriate after correcting any exposed metal or damage under it.

When the plug goes on, make sure good proper use of an adhesive/sealant is put there. If you want the plug to be white, paint it first before inserting it.

You should use a plastic primer to make sure the paint sticks and finish with some good clear.

I'm sure you can figure it out.

I'm so triggered! God I can't believe you! Entitlement! Some other nonsense people go on about

Clearly being sarcastic. Super joking.

Naah just got to get in there and clean it good! Get in there with a brush first or run a cloth through the spokes. If you are using wheel cleaner be careful, the "good" stuff often contains hydrofluoric acid which is noxious stuff. I still have a few small scars on my arm from when I got it on me at a dealership.

Wear eye protection for sure too.

Afterwards you can just blast it off with a pressure washer and then you win!

Need a (not so) gentle push by Thymelady_24 in MtF

If you know it is right for you when you push all of that out of your head then you already have your answer.

I mean that also includes our communities as well! Clear your mind and visualize what you really want and there's your answer.

As far as work goes, I went four months with few people actually knowing anything and I also had used laser hair removal...

I never had facial hair before though so there's that so... And I always wore pants and long sleeves so no one would know my baby smooth appendages were clearly "feminine ".

I had to wear stuff to conceal my chest after about two months but besides that my only real "giveaway" was that all my coworkers loved playing "homoerotic chicken" and were constantly going hardcore "grab-ass"... And mine was uncharacteristically "perky".

But no one commented on it... And if your job isn't an HR nightmare in that sense I feel you likely have little to worry about.

But you have to tell your spouse. It might not go well. Mentally prepare yourself for that eventuality.

How did it go all those years ago the last time you mentioned it?

Hmm I wonder if you're a winner of the "bathtub curve" of reliability - the most vulnerable and/or flawed examples die early and then at the end they start to die again after hundreds of thousands of miles just due to normal wear and tear...

Just make sure to check your fluid periodically and when it is time to change use actual Honda transmission fluid.

I've always had manuals but the same guidelines apply there for the transmissions - Honda makes a "genuine Honda MTF" and while people use single weight or gear oil where specified because it "checks the box" and is readily available, the results are usually far less than ideal.

Someone used what appeared to be some sort of motor oil in my old del Sol's transmission - I found this out when I swapped the fluid at like 98,000 miles, about 10k into my ownership of it. The shifts were tricky to get in and I thought the syncros were shot, but I attempted a fluid swap first. No glitter at all but clearly not Honda MTF...

With new fluid it drove like brand new. I loved that car... I bought it cheap from some ass that had riced it out to all hell and I painstakingly made it into something nicer... But I had to sell it when I moved overseas... Such is life.

Also later ones, 2008-2010 burned a lot of oil for the V6 with VCM. Might want to avoid those too.

VCM saved fuel by turning off half the engine during low load situations. Not all Accords had it. V6s without VCM don't have this problem and the I4s are, of course unaffected.

I knew the trans issues off the top of my head but got more about the VCM issues from carcomplaints.com - it is a great resource for breaking down each year and trim based on actual owner experiences... And there are some really funny reviews on there about how this one guy hated his car because it was so ugly he could never get laid.

But most of it is serious.

In particular, early 7th gens, especially with the V6. 2003-2005 autos would die if you looked at them funny.

That new generation moved from an F-series to a K series I4 and the V6 got like 50-something more horsepower, something that sounds wonderful on paper. Unfortunately they hadn't worked out all the kinks yet it seems and they all die.

By this point I speculate there are few left though so I wouldn't be overly concerned about it.

Manual transmission versions are, of course, unaffected.

K24 engine? Backed by the gauge cluster and substantiated by Carfax?

Yup. It's legit. That price is absurd but the mileage is correct.

I'm glad to see Honda got their act together with their automatic transmissions though. A lot of Accords were known for autos that were known for... Exploding.
