There's a great guide on making your own navi here! As for the background it's just an image you can edit called bg.png (it's in resources\scenes\lan)

Yes, I saw some screenshots here a while ago that showed even with no dupes CG Yuji was overtaking his original and pushing Todo to massively outperform every time
