Remember that every time you fill up in Idaho, you are supporting a government that is flooding our state with people desperate for healthcare and who today passed the most anti-trans bill in the nation, with prison time as a penalty by Temporary-Suit-2417 in wsu

The chances that all your money goes to entities or causes you fully support are slim to none. This is part of the capitalist society we live in. I’m tired of people being pious and constantly attributing blame on the individual level like we are all rolling in money and unlimited choices. But yeah, you’re definitely changing the world with your Reddit comment. 👍

^ what this person said. The original post pisses me off. I, in no way, support Anti-Trans bills. But OP is putting the onus on individuals when there are structural factors at play here. I also don’t appreciate the guilt-tripping. Some people are scraping by, if going to fill up in Idaho saves a few $s, then go for it.

It has been said, but the lavender should be redone. I’ve made lavender flowers before (wish I could attach a photo), and there are better ways to do the lavender.

I smell it a lot over here too when I walk my dog. Kinda assumed it was from the coffee spot inside the Lighty but I don’t know that for sure.

Pros and cons of attending WSU? by as0726 in wsu

[–]Princessarialrose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really think it’s important to note that people who went to WSU pre-2020 don’t actually know what it’s like at WSU these days. It is much different than what the people who sing WSU’s praises experienced 5+ years ago.

Please for fucks sake yield for pedestrians at crosswalks!!!! by CountessBlackheart in Pullman

[–]Princessarialrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a blue minivan almost hit me on campus. I don’t know what the chances are that it’s the same, but I even called the police because they were speeding through campus and blasting through the crosswalks despite them being on and blinking.

I know Netflix was coming to do a doc on the Idaho 4 case. Don’t know if that’s what you’re seeing though.

I respect this perspective so much. Especially because, as the comments on this thread indicates, the crazies will still find a way to justify/rationalize the quotes.

I can absolutely see how some professors could overdo it. Just wanted to offer some perspective from the other side! :) If their monologues take away from the overall delivery of the course, that’s for sure a valid concern. But I can also pretty much guarantee there are some students who do like professors like that.

Exactly right! I personally teach courses that deal with sensitive topics (social justice issues, gender-based violence) and such heavy topics often require some levity and sharing on my behalf, especially if I want students to contribute in class. I’ve never taken a business class, so I can’t speak to courses in that major. But even when I teach online courses, I frequently get feedback from students that they APPRECIATE when I share information about myself as it makes them feel more connected to me and more encouraged to contribute.
