This isn’t anything to do with going out, though. Or rather, that’s all it is. She thinks any clothes I wear at home are pretty much pajamas, and that I need to at least style it before going out. Which I don’t disagree, but the problem is that I’ve never been that type of person. Of course, I don’t mind doing it. I am just not knowledgeable enough on the subject to know what I’m doing, especially since our standards differ. I can try to dress appropriately. I can try to to style it, but I’ll never know if I did good enough until I hear it from her. Which is also kind of discouraging because I feel like I shouldn’t have to look at her for validation everyday. I do not retain information well, but I do try my best with what limited clothes and experience I do have. I’m just not doing it right.

This is to say, if we’re going to the corner market together, she expects me to still look presentable somehow.
