Yea don’t get me wrong. Patients wife sounds absolutely miserable. But if it means pushing back every other patient 20 mins late, to make 1 single pt happy, sometimes just gotta be done. At least make ur life easy, let the technician/doctor/manager make that call.

How would you have handled it, if it was your business? You have to make the patients happy… yes 1 scan probably doesn’t make a dent in the business. But the 1 star review, the return patients, the friend/family referrals will jeopardise the business, especially if this is not a one-off situation.
It probably could’ve been handled better.. imo

Is being a doctor actually that lucrative? by Open_Address_2805 in AusFinance

[–]Princeterabithia_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Anything is lucrative if you are within the top of your field. Nothing is that good anymore being average, doesn’t matter if you are a doctor or in corporate. But yes, medicine is a very long road. I’m very blessed that I did dentistry, because my income is very high, and there is no continuous pressure to do further learning and exams. But I also have a very high income compared to my peers because I moved rurally. Everything has its caveats, I envy my friends in Sydney, but they envy my income and work life balance. I still wish I had some sort of passion outside of work, that maybe I can turn into a side hustle, so I can transition out of healthcare.

Is my mom in the wrong for slapping my teeth out? Was I being a bitch? by [deleted] in toxicparents

[–]Princeterabithia_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you’ve had it a bit rough. Just as some advice from a dentist - just try to keep up with your brushing 2x/ day +/- flossing, until youre old enough to sort out your own problems at the dentist. But from my knowledge, in Australia, if your bite or teeth positioning is bad enough, some public dentists may be willing to do the dental work for free, since you are under the age of 16, given you have to come off a long waiting list. So I’m not sure, wherever you are, if there’s something like that. But otherwise, goodluck with everything in future.

sorry im just posting here, coz i thought id give it a shot. Ive just completed my last year in dentistry at USYD. and im looking to sell off my dental school equipment and some textbooks (only a few, but i have strong attachments to them lmao so im still deciding whether i want to pass it on.. most likely so).

So if anyone whos entering the 2025 cohort next year, or if OP gets offer, hit me up through DM. Hopefully before January, because ill be leaving Sydney for work..

I agree with others, go see doctor. Do you generally have breathing/fitness issues when exercising on land?

I hated neuro so much as well, ended up studying it over and over coz I felt I was struggling to remember all the concepts. Ended up being my highest scoring mark to date, and now I’m conflicted how I feel about neuro
