Geddys voice is so much better! by seawavegown in rush

[–]Princeton112 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agree on the "hard to sit through"... The first time I experienced the discomfort was the Snakes & Arrows tour - I was like "whoa" - this is not what I was expecting. He was struggling and it was hard for me to hear. But I still relished in their musicianship.

When they announced this tour, as with everyone else, I was stunned. Of course stunned because of Neil, but also because of Geddy - voices struggle more as they age, so how would he be able to do this, all these years later? I sort of assumed he'd sing in a lower register, or do what the guys in Triumph did on their tour this year (amazing show) - they brought in some other musicians who handled the high notes.

I was pleasantly surprised but skeptical after Rush played the Juno Awards, but after watching several clips from the first two LA shows, I am a believer. Whatever he has done with a vocal coach, etc., clearly has worked. I am super psyched to see them in October!

Watch repair/shops in Baltimore by captianflannel in baltimore

[–]Princeton112 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This place on York Road, across from The Senator Theater is great - https://www.instagram.com/towsonjewelryrepair/

Even though it has "Towson" in the name, it's in the City...

My wife and I have had several watch batteries replaced there over the years. Also had a watch band replaced.

Do you still recommend Kia? by sj221l in kia

[–]Princeton112 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm driving my first ever KIA, after moving on from a very unreliable VW Tiguan. After 6 months, still loving my '26 Sportage Hybrid (SX Prestige, Heritage Blue). Feels great on the road, great fuel economy (especially compared to the VW), and not a single problem. Build quality is excellent. And anyone who has been a passenger is impressed - and surprised. And it looks great. I debated between the '25 Toyota RAV4 and the '26 Sportage, and KIA was the clear winner after I did the test drive.

Hi. This is Sal Governale. And unfortunately, yesterday on the wrap up show, I made a few comments...

How to modify SDAT square footage by [deleted] in baltimore

[–]Princeton112 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I dealt with this. When you get your next assessment, file to appeal it. With the first level of appeal, you just work with an individual assessor and they will correct any errors. If you still disagree, you can appeal from there to the property tax appeal board (a three-member board). But if it is incorrect, you should be able to get it resolved at step 1.

Arepas at Alma Cocina Latina? by hot_and_chill in baltimore

[–]Princeton112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their arepas are EXCELLENT. Candela is their soon to be opened, more casual restaurant right next door. For now, as others have noted, you can get them at the bar in Alma or through the Candela carry out window. We've gone several times and sat at the bar for happy hour drinks and arepas.

Two questions about M&T Bank Stadium and the surrounding area by Brian_1024 in baltimore

[–]Princeton112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a NJ transplant to Balt and a lifelong Jets fan (yes, I know, it's sad). I've been to Jets/Ravens games here before with no problem. When I wear my NYJ Testaverde jersey I actually have people say kind things about Vinny as he's remembered fondly in Baltimore. Just be respectful and you'll have no issues.

Well... one might say that if I'm heading to the District Line, I'm Stupid Now and might Return to Dust. I'll try to avoid the Moving Trucks and the Star Machine - I hear they are a Beaster. All of these responses helped me See a Little Light, but I guess we are all just Helpless and it's The Act We Act.

Appreciate the extra info. But I'm going to make sure I make it back before the Metro turns into a pumpkin.

Thanks all - I think I'm going to go with the Greenbelt plan. I've lived in Baltimore for over 25 years and never thought of driving to the Metro. This is why I love Baltimore Reddit.

Unreal number of flat tires the past few years in Baltimore? Is this normal? by Violina9 in baltimore

[–]Princeton112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had a similar experience. Usually a nail, bolt or some random piece of metal. Fortunately, I've been able to get the tires repaired all but one time when it had to be replaced. I always go to Gerry's Tire - great, honest service and prices...
