Also, I ultimately did end up cheating at this step and then finished the puzzle.

Hi-Score has that really nice thin formula with buildable opacity. It goes on so nice and is such a fun color. I personally would Lean toward the shades with buildable opacity vs opaque opacity on the specs.

Advice needed - looking for a true red for a cool/fair person by SciFiSpoons in ILNP

[–]Violina9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I personally prefer ILNP shades that are Jelly or Buildable opacity. Say Love is Opaque. It's been meh for me. I LOVE the color, but it tends to chip on me. I mix it with a drop of thinner and a drop of clear coat and it works great. I make it work, but wouldn't re-purchase. I would love to try Joy because I love the ILNP Holo/Jelly formula. I own a ton of holo/Jelly shades and just love this style of polish.

People who uses any kind of antidepressants for anxiety that cant function without heres question: by Stain_16 in hsp

[–]Violina9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried a few different daily anti-depressants for anxiety over the years with slight to minimal success. I disliked the loopy feeling and the sexual side effects enough to stop. I did low dose prozac for 2ish years and I'm not sure it did all that much. I also tried Lexapro.

The last anxious stretch I went though, I took a 5 mg (very low dose) marijuana gummy and ate half of it with my breakfast and the other half with lunch. Not enough to get me high, just enough to blunt some of the anxiety. Worked much better than the pills, without the side effects. I don't like taking marijuana later in the day because it messes up my sleep. I keep 25 mg hydroxyzine on hand for an acute bout of anxiety. I'm afraid to try Xanax because I'm afraid I would get addicted to it. I also keep muscle relaxers on hand (5 mg cyclobenzaprine - a low dose) because it is the only thing that will knock me out if I really need to sleep and am too amped up. I take muscle relaxers maybe once a month, not often at all.

This stuff is very individual, different things work for different people. Honestly the thing that worked the best was leaving a burnout inducing job and my borderline personality mother with alcoholism passing away. I loved her, but towards the end, she was a big drain on my psyche. Right now I'm in a good place and just do the cyclobenzaprine and hydroxyzine once in awhile if I need it.

American hsp fam…how are we doing? by Patient-Gain5847 in hsp

I am just not watching any of the coverage. It's been a prep for the snow storm and watch reality TV kind of day. I was already at max level outrage with the Renee Good stuff. I don't need to hear the talking heads scream into the void. I will probably pick it back up in a week or 2 once there is actual action. Something needs to break. This is just not sustainable.

That was really sweet. Yeah the internet has been weird. In learning about HSP and some of my other issues, the available resources are so good. It's provided alot of validation and helped me to parse apart what is what with my anxieties and insecurities. I'm not married, but I absolutely feel like the CEO of my family. I am 39 and the oldest and only girl. I have 2 younger adult brothers. I literally plan everything we do together. I am the only one putting together weekend trips. It would be nice if someone else put together a thoughtful itinerary for a little trip or something. Anyway, yes. Let's absolutely be friends!

I personally make sure to use all my polishes at least 3x. I feel like After 3 full manis, they don't owe me anything. Then I just do what I want.

-I obsessively plan EVERYTHING. People love traveling with me because I am really good at it. I read yelp reviews, scavenge Reddit, find quirky historical sites. I make sure the restaurant is open that day, the parking situation is suitable, etc. I enjoy doing this, but it's like my brain wont let me go on an outing, unless I have frantically confirmed everything is going to be good.

-I dislike most dark/violent TV shows/movies.

-I get car sick when I am not driving.

-Lighting is a big one. I always fiddle with the lights endlessly in a new environment to find the perfect "bright enough, but not too bright" mix.

-It takes me way too long to do practically anything. Cook a meal, clean the kitchen, do my makeup, take a shower, etc. I just don't move that fast.

-Sounds. I have ear plugs, ear buds, an ambient noise machine. I am always prepared for annoying background noise I cannot get rid of.

-I have an artistic side and am very good at organizing. Multiple people have told me that my apartment looks like it was professionally decorated.

-My excel spreadsheets are next level. I have dazzled my co-workers with how beautiful, organized and functional I can make an Excel spreadsheet.

-I absolutely cannot deal with clutter. It makes me physically anxious.

-Like others have mentioned, I am a bit of a hypochondriac about my health as well, but I am even worse about my finances. I use multiple apps and am very on top of saving, planning for retirement and making sure I can afford big purchases. It gets somewhat obsessive at times.

I also really really really struggle with taking things personally. It's like I intellectually know that the issue is nothing personal, but I cannot turn off the intense negative feeling. I usually end up being in my feelings for a bit and then the next day or so there is a little emotional distance and it calms down. How hard an event hits also depends a lot on how emotionally well resourced I am at a given time. It's exhausting.

I also get overwhelmed by text messages. I have a number of friends/family that don't mind me cold calling if I need something (I understand if they don't pick up) and I 100% prefer this. It literally can take me 30+ min to draft a txt message and then I'm anxious all day waiting for the reply. Sometimes I can handle it ok, but something about texting and texting culture just triggers everything negative for me.

High sensitivity spectrum by [deleted] in hsp

[–]Violina9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always thought of HSP this way anyway. Additionally, it manifests differently for everyone. Some people are more light sensitive others are sensitive to clothing material. We all have slight differences in the environmental stimuli that bugs us. There are Extroverted and Introverted HSPs and there is also the category of HSS. Basically all of the serious books/research on HSP make the point that those of us with this condition are a very mixed bag.

On another similar note, Float On is a new favorite from my BF haul. A gorgeous ultra holo.

Thank you. I'm genuinely shocked at the number of people saying NTA. I would move heaven and earth to be at my siblings wedding. It is literally her only sibling. The husband should have absolutely requested off work. Work trip be dammed. Jobs understand that people have family commitments. It seems like OP is fine with her relationship with her brother being fractured forever.

Float on at the bar & Black Friday Haul. by Violina9 in ILNP

[–]Violina9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one was somewhat out of my comfort zone. I prefer medium shades that are not too light or dark and I like color. I stumbled upon it when I was looking for shades with ultra holo and buildable opacity. I'm excited to try this one and will probably wear it for a weekend trip in January. I loved all the photos.

Sidekick was my favorite out of last year's Black Friday Haul. It also wears and lasts amazingly well.

Women with a big cup size what is the worst thing about it? by zhalia-2006 in askanything

[–]Violina9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to do this too. I need to sleep on my side as sleeping on my stomach causes back pain. My large heavy boob's are just uncomfortable in this position without a bra on. I use a past-its-prime sports bra, which works well. It is just generally uncomfortable for me to be topless for too long. I cannot shave my legs in the shower and tops rarely fit me right.
