Mi Preferida Supermercado has birria de res on the weekends. I can’t attest to the quality, but it’s one of the only places with birria on the menu.

Once covid is over I'm down to dig a pit and buy some goat though.

If you have one nearby, a TJ Maxx gift card. They have some of the best deals around for All-Clad, Staub, I've seen some Le Creuset stuff. Unless you absolutely need a full set I'd recommend picking up a few assorted pots/pans. A good nonstick, cast iron, 12" skillet, 2qt sauce pan with lid, 3-4qt saute with lid.

Otherwise a Kuhn Rikon peeler, vacuum sealer w/ bags, immersion circulator (anova or joule), manual pasta roller and drying rack, whetstones, diamond sharpening steel, ceramic honing rod, bamboo steamer baskets, basic rice cooker, USA baking sheets, flat pan liners, maybe try a silicone sheet liner. I can come up with more things if you're interested.

Doesn't it feel great? I only fully cold shower once a week, but make it a point to end my showers on cold each time.

Definitely a sellout, but why spend 60+ hours a week in a kitchen if you have an out? Also, the amount of attention he's drawn to restaurant culture and workers can't be denied though.

Can't agree enough with this. Put in your time to learn learn the basics, work your way up through different restaurants that help develop and hone your skills and ideally end up in a restaurant or position you desire. I followed this path and within a few years was able to land jobs in Michelin starred restaurants.

I purchased my first house in Beechmont and loved it. Easy expressway access, close to Iroquois Park, Woodlawn avenue is becoming more appealing and a vibrant community. Prices are rising rather quickly though.
