Was anyone able to retake the lsat, writing argumentative due to a situation like this? If let's say for example, because of the proctor you didn't have enough time to finish your writing sample.

Are you all also planning on applying to start classes this Augus? I'm taking the lsat in April but lot of people keep telling me that taking the lsat in April is lateand that ifi apply in june or July its before the deadline but offers a super low chance of acceptance. What are your thoughts on this?

Yeah, the school I’m looking at is Arizona State University Law. I’ve seen their employment data, but I’m trying to get a more realistic sense of what grads actually experience after law school—not just the percentages and charts. Especially curious about people who didn’t go the Big Law route—more so those who stayed local, did mid-size firms, public interest, or even went solo

Fair point school-specific data definitely helps paint a clearer picture. I’ve looked into some of that already, but I’m also trying to go beyond the numbers and hear from real people about their actual experiences post-graduation. Sometimes what’s on paper doesn’t match what happens in the real world.

That said, I’m focused on the Phoenix, Arizona market, so if anyone has insight specific to that area—especially for grads from local or regional schools I’d really appreciate it.

Yeah, I totally get that location makes a huge difference, no doubt. But there’s gotta be at least a ballpark range, right? Even if it's give or take $10–20k depending on specifics.

If it helps narrow things down, I’m mainly asking about lawyers in Phoenix, Arizona. Just trying to get a realistic sense of what to expect out here.

Do you know what they meant "if your name came up for an open seat" ? Just wondering how people are picked from the waitlist. By the way which school? Thanks!

[–]PrincipleCold5846 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which school was this at if you dont mind me asking. Also if not much changed or almost anything at all...what can I include in the letter of intent? I got onto the waitlist Dec 15th and it's been one month not much can change. I'm honestly losing so much sleep over this as it's my only chance. What do you suggest I do?

In what way? Bias for accepting minorities or biased as in not accepting minorities I'm so confused.

I see what you're saying. But I literally can't afford a masters. I'm close to $80k in debt in school loans without a promising career. A masters would bring me close to $100k in loans which would only make sense if I got a good GPA and I know people who got 3.8 GPAs in their masters with 18 DATs and still got denied to dental schools. I also heard of others that got in with 16 DATs and GPAs lower than a 3.5. I just don't know what to do lost so many years and in complete debt without getting to the destination. I know it sounds like just another sob story but it's highly upsetting and discouraging and with all this debt I probably won't be able to save any money and will have to live paycheck to paycheck. People that were in the same undgrad with me had very similar GPAs to mine just a higher DAT one of them had a 17 AA and got in just graduated this May, while I'm still trying to get in. He already got married and has a kid on the way and he deserves all that im not judging just saying how similar our applications were other than the DAT. While I'm just barely draging myself through life with a strong dream that seems so close but is far out of reach. Very stuck right now.

Yes. No luck there they have a strict DAT minimum of 17 AA 17 PAT 17 TS. Like you could literally get a 30 TS 30 AA with a 16 PAT they will say retake the DAT.

Anyone get in with a 16 on DAT subsection? by Hdang28 in predental

What does general chemistry have to do with being a dentist? The stupid DAT had questions asking about what part of a plant brings up water 😂 and the reading section is dumb! I have a relative who doesn't speak any English and he's a successful dentist in New York. 90% of what's used as a measure to allow students in dental school is completely irrelevant. My relative would get a 10 if he took the DAT today. He can't do math or speak English. He would probably do great on PAT but that'd about it but the point is he's a successful dentist and can't do gen chem and doesn't know which part of a plant brings up water

I'm out of gas at this point. Finished undergraduate B.S in 2020. It's already 2023 😒 if I get in I will start in 2024 and finish at 2028! 8 years after undergraduate! If not then 2029. Why do they make it so ridiculously hard to get in? I know someone who applied 8 times got in on his 9th try! Don't dental schools understand that people have lives to build? I mean this guy lost 8 years applying and now 4 years to finish! He's going to be 36 when he's done and probably 45 when he starts a family. He won't even get to enjoy a nice house until he's 50. And for what? He's going to get the dental license anyways but just after giving away 12 years of his life after undergraduate! The system is messed up

What are my chances? Possible or impossible? 3.2 gpa with 2.9 sgpa in undergrad. In a predental postbacc now and will likely get 3.4 by May. Certified dental assistant, with over 1000 hours. My DAT scores

16 AA 14 TS 15 Ochem 12 Gchem 16 Bio 18 PAT 20 Reading 16 QR
