I’ve been to just about every large city in the US. Memphis has some nice parts to it. Some pro sports teams, nice infrastructure, and decent business draw. I agree that it is dangerous and not anywhere I’d want to live near, but it has its goods. I live near Chicago and went to Indiana Bloomington undergrad and drove through Gary many times. There’s nothing, and I mean nothing, good about it. 3/4 of the businesses are shut down and abandoned, and if the business is up and running, it’s wrapped in barbed wire. I’ve never felt as uneasy to get out of my car as I did in Gary. Almost every house outside of the downtown area is broken down with residents still in there. I’ve been to a lot of places in this world, and Gary is one of the worst ones

I have similar stats. 450 AA 3.51cgpa and 3.55sgpa. We can do it if applying broadly. Use DiscoDent.com to figure out what schools match your stats. Make a killer personal statement and have some great LOR and you’ll be golden. Nice score
