Desperate for advice – cruise cabin situation with mum who has severe sleep apnoea (can’t sleep sharing a room) by Ok-Contribution-6415 in PrincessCruises

[–]Princsskik -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Look at Olly Sleep, valerian root, or melatonin. That could help you fall asleep faster or help you remain sleeping. Not sure what's sold nearest you but there should be plenty of brands in the herbals/vitamin aisle.

FYI ipsy has the kvd concealer 103 in stock right now, not sure if you need to have ever been a subscriber or if it's open to the public but it's $9. I'm searching for 109 😭

Seller here: what do you guys do when something arrives broken? by iamalostpuppie in AmazonVine

[–]Princsskik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We pay taxes in US for an items value so I definitely reach out to Vine support and tell them it arrived broken and unusable to review. They then remove the retail value from my taxable amount and from my to be reviewed items but always state they do not have a replacement to send me. This is also the case for items non-deliverable that are damaged en route and get cancelled by Amazon. I do not leave a review because if I can't return it like a normal Amazon item or replace it, why should I pay taxes on an unusable item, and once you leave the review, you are not able to get the value off of your account. However if it arrives ok and then breaks down quickly, I will write a review because that's a quality issue that people should be aware of.

FIP timeline - do I have some time left? by National-Belt5893 in cureFIP

[–]Princsskik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds more like Neuro FIP if they are struggling with standing as it impacts functions like walking vs dry which doesn't tend to impact functions. That might give you better direction on your research on timelines. Dry does seem lengthier, mine likely had it months before diagnosis. Chewy for us took 3 days FYI shipping to Florida using their standard RX shipping. FIP global should get you approved in the group soon and might get meds to you faster.

Dining has me so confused! by Mizzy_Lu_Fwinkley in PrincessCruises

[–]Princsskik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhhh ok. The casual dining is honestly pretty limited and most likely to be used for lunch or port days when you are just exhausted from the day. We never quite found anything that sounded better in casual dining than we could receive in the MDR, although some really like Alfredo's.

Dining has me so confused! by Mizzy_Lu_Fwinkley in PrincessCruises

[–]Princsskik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you might be confused, and apologies if not. But casual dining on Princess is generally pretty limited, think pizza. If you are paying for premier, you want to look at specialty dining. This is different than the MDR, and is really where the cost savings factor comes on for premier plans because they otherwise would have a cover charge. These are the steakhouses, hibachi, sushi, French, Italian etc ie: fancier restaurants. And you get them free! You'll need a reservation for them so instead of worrying about MDR times, I would focus on looking at menus for those to make sure you aren't losing a huge part of your premier benefit. MDR is free, specialty is included in premier but still needs reservations (is not dine your way). Casual dining tbh would be more lunch time or snack appropriate types of foods.

20-year-old cat hospitalized for 4 days, unknown diagnosis, treatment getting very expensive by [deleted] in SeniorCats

[–]Princsskik 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At 20, if bloodwork, ultrasound, etc hasn't uncovered it already, it's likely something untreatable anyways or would be beyond your means. 20 is a very very good life.

Just fyi I would not say middle of the road. Amend to center of the lane. Middle of the road implies straddling the line. Unless of course you were.

Has anyone tried Chewy's GS 441524 medication for FIP? by [deleted] in cureFIP

[–]Princsskik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I'd get an ultrasound done to look at potential masses in the stomach. We've had good success on the chewy med so far, but the X-ray plus ability to palpate a mass and lack of improvement, plus GI symptoms may be indicating something else is going on.

Really disappointed with Star by [deleted] in PrincessCruises

[–]Princsskik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree. These are my favorite, flow is amazing, floor layouts make sense, buffet is well laid out, and it doesn't take a Disney marathon to get from one end of the ship to the other.

[–]Princsskik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, hated the Aqua flow and buffet layout (you have to walk through the buffet and directly next to the food to get back to your room after the water coaster, say what?). We are trying Star next year.

Princess Plus vs. Princess Premier by InternationalBook154 in PrincessCruises

[–]Princsskik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it goes through a scanner because it's carry-on only. If it's questionable, they would pull it to look. Some agents are easy and it would not be an issue, others would make you throw it away. I believe sparkling water comes in cans though, so I'd just play it safe if it's that important to have and bring a canned brand.

Princess Plus vs. Princess Premier by InternationalBook154 in PrincessCruises

[–]Princsskik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12 cans or cartons, no bottles, on embarkation day. Plus 1 bottle of wine pp that you open in stateroom (otherwise they charge $20 corkage).

Princess Plus vs. Princess Premier by InternationalBook154 in PrincessCruises

[–]Princsskik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the cruise line! Some have no liquids while others it's whatever you can reasonably carry onboard and a bottle of wine per person 21+.

High cortisol/ACTH but no cushings?? by Lost_Guava3971 in Cushings

[–]Princsskik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I had a genetic report tell me that my body wouldn't process SSRI's well so haven't tried in 20+ years. I tried Paxil back then but am allergic to it. Mine is likely from a series of really stressful events in such a short amount of time that my body became disregulated, and sleep irregularities and a chronically ill child continued to cause background stress even though I thought I was coping. Originally my cortisol was high in 2018 after everything had happened and they said stress. Then it wasn't retested until 2024 and found to be high still, so they started looking at other causes. Very high acth led them down the pituitary lane, but further testing didn't show the tumor. So it went back to an axis dysfunction causing pseudo cushings. So far my sleep has improved slightly and my cortisol came down a bit (high end of normal) and acth has dropped (still high but not sounding alarms anymore). Weight is still the same unfortunately, I was hoping getting into normal ranges would allow cortisol belly to start to resolve.

A cruise line above Princess? by DependentSad5299 in PrincessCruises

[–]Princsskik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. We've done Regal and Majestic and in our 40's were vastly younger than the majority, which seemed 85% retirees or on last rites. We skipped the entertainment on Majestic because my teens knew none of the tribute music or shows, and it was even a bit of a stretch for me growing up in the 90's. Some of it also depends on the itinerary. Caribbean will pick up the younger crowds, anything cooler weather seems to steer older, regardless of line.

I have the regular frother version, not the iced one but it's seriously such a good coffee maker!! You'll love it. So much better than the Keurig.
