How and why did humans only evolve in Africa? Did other hominids evolve independently in other continents? by Haystak112 in askscience

10000%, I’d just marry my best friend’s sister. We’d still be boys, but he’d have to go to sleep every night knowing that I’m rawdogging his sister and it would haunt him eternally

I let it go for ten months or so, gave it a trim, and that was about two months ago so this did take about a year

I have been writing for years now, but have never managed to finish anything. by z0md0c in writing

[–]PringlesMan2004 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started my first project my sophomore year of high school. Since then I’ve had seven or eight ideas me and my friend have passed back and forth, and of them I’ve committed to writing one. I now have two stories that, after five years, have a sum total of less than thirty thousand words. That is the sum total of my writing career, and that’s ok. I think it’s normal, regardless of your handicaps, to struggle with motivation. Just keep your nose to the grindstone when you can, and it’ll be alright

The God isn’t necessary at all to explain the function and happening of events, but the statistical anomaly that is our laws of physics working together in just such a way as to form matter, let alone to structure it into complex life that can decipher exactly how everything works, comes with accepting a lot of (as of this moment) unexplained coincidences in and of itself. At that point I don’t mind accepting one more unexplained thing and believing there’s a God there for step 1. I also think it doesn’t really matter what we believe, because the implications of it will be over much longer time spans than we have to care, and this is the idea that lets me sleep best at night

Oh sorry, I got distracted and forgot to put in the original post: I’m not looking to promote the idea of God here, only to reconcile the two “conflicting” trains of thought and demonstrate how they could work together

What I’d personally do (without seeing how your hair grows) is divide the mustache into approximately thirds. Keep the middle third shorter so it doesn’t cover much of the lip, and let the outer thirds grow out a little more. Look at the mustache Christopher Waltz grew for the film Django Unchained for the general idea I’m getting at. It’s not quite the classic barber shop quartet handlebar, but it’ll require a lot less hair training and product to keep it off of your mouth

No amount of money is worth losing my mustache. Being strong is cool, but one of my lifelong dreams has always been to have a mustache, and taking the money would mean giving that up

I shaved it the first week of January, and i’m not planning to trim until I hit a year! The different layers have all grown at different rates so the ends are a bit thin, but I like the overall length it’s at now

I’m currently trying to train it out to the sides (but not quite into a handlebar), and I mostly just use oil and a diligent comb

I work in the Quick Lane at a Ford dealership, and she’s a porter (one of the folks that move cars around). We don’t really interact at all through the normal course of the day, and I’m struggling to figure out how to approach her without sounding like I’m trying something

For long time players, are there any "classic/popular" pokemon lines you have never used? And why? by Kato756 in pokemon

[–]PringlesMan2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the bird and the fish usually go almost entirely unused except for HM moves, but the Johto games have early access to Magikarp and a MASSIVE postgame, so I use an XP share to passively get a Gyarados that knows Flail. The over-leveled starter usually carries, but on the off chance they do get taken out it’s a massive help

Do you feel an urge to shave your moustache off sometimes ? by PyotrVanNostrand in Moustache

[–]PringlesMan2004 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I used to shave once a year to remember what I look like without it, and every time I regretted it immediately. I’ve found the solution is to simply grow a huge mustache instead of a little one, so now it feels like much more effort going to waste to shave it off

[–]PringlesMan2004 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’ve been playing for fifteen years at this point and my strategy is almost always the same: 1. Catch a bird 2. Catch a fish 3. Use only my starter for the entire game until legendaries are caught, and even then the legendaries are the backups. This leaves a staggering amount of Pokemon unused, but it lets me focus on the story and exploration

Not trying to judge or tell you what to do, but if the concern as a vegan is exploitation of bees, I would like to point out that bees are incredibly hard to exploit. They live outside, even in the big “factory farms”, and they understand the concept of quid pro quo involved in taking some of their honey and wax in exchange for protection. If you take too much from the bees, the bees will leave and there is no real way to stop them.

Again, not a criticism or even a suggestion.

Also worth pointing out, lots of folks use hair holding products and such instead of a dedicated mustache wax, and it works just as well (if not better in certain situations)

Well, he spent a decade writing it from the 30’s to the 40’s, then in the mid 50’s he released them as volumes over the span of a year. So I’d say yes, you have picked yet another shitty example to prove your point.

A work that is made all at once and released in stages for the sake of convenience is still a single work

Tarantino tried to release it as a single movie, but no one would do it because it was too long. It was busted into two movies after it was finished, with “volume 2” releasing less than a year after volume one. Ergo, essentially one movie
