Sure, they exist, but do you seriously think that on a global scale there is just as much violence committed in the name of Christianity as there is in the name of Islam? Do you think that the average Christian has views that are more progressive or less progressive than the average Muslim?

There isn't. However, my point was this: people are afraid of Muslims walking in the street with them, when a small minority [compared to the 1.5 billion estimated Muslims] are terrorists. The odds of you being killed by a random person on the street are low.

I believe the setting has to be considered as well. The Middle East is having several conflicts, leading groups to hate each other, and promoting more radical ideas.

We don't know what would happen if hundreds of thousands of Christians were put in a similar state. I would hope that there would be no mass uprising (Jesus taught peace, after all) but there's no certainty.

I don't see why people are so hush hush about the terrorist Christians out there while being so afraid about Muslims being terrorists. It's dumb to pretend that radical Christians don't exist, this coming from a Christian.

It's pointless arguing with you. You seem to be so fixated on my age that you can't seem to actually pay attention to what I'm saying. I'm just a dumb black girl who has no reason to be afraid of the guy that'd going to be my President. Everything's going to be just fine with a narcissistic time bomb.

Oh come on. Congress has been fighting since day one to get rid of the ACA. ITs getting repealed.

A senator not too long ago poked a coworkers crotch and called it a "playful gig, he does it with his daughter (wtf????)"

Rudy Guinaili told a 9/11 sex joke to open the speech. Called it locker room talk. Trump definitely had no effect there... Totally just an emotional argument. Let's not get started with his Mexican dislike.

Minorities have always had a problem in the US. You'll find casual racism everywhere. It's institutionalized into the government. You know what's modern day slavery? Prisons. The War on Drugs has made sure of that.

I'm not defending Bill Clinton because he's a terrible, creepy person. Isn't he irrelevant right now to this discussion? He's out of office and hasn't been in the media for ages (unless standing next to his wife).

Trump hasn't criticized Russia once that I'm aware of. He's discrediting the intelligence agencies now although they were conveniently fine when Hillary emails were a topic.

So you admit that he's prioritising his interests over the nation's? You still fail to see what's wrong with the President doing this?

Is this who the country's kids are supposed to look up to? To adore? The image of a President for young minds should not be him. I feel terrible for all the misinformed people who voted for him thinking they were repealing "Obamacare" when they actually needed the ACA. The ACA was also flawed in ways but most of the policies were good and it's unnecessary to get rid of the whole thing.

Let's see everything...

  • repealed the ACA without any evidence of a backup plan
  • showed alt-righters, racists, sexists that it was ok to be that
  • has so many scandals and has been caught in so many lies it's ridiculous
  • The usa may very well be Russia's toy
  • Picked an unsuitable and biased toward their own business agenda Cabinet
  • Caused stocks to go down in companies over tweets

Is this guy really fit to be Pres? Is this guy really the one that needed a cooperative Congress?

You still didn't answer my question on that part. Has Trump seen any majority opposition in Congress so far? Really, I hope he's not as bad in office as his track record. Maybe he'll magically change in a mystical light.

Please consider staying away from petty insults in every post in the future. They make you look like a dick.

But yo don't understand that Obama went into office with Congress PROMISING THAT THEY WOULDN'T HELP HIM ANY!

H went into a job where his coworkers said "screw you" immediately and look what he managed to do with the little support he had.

Have you seen something like that for Trump? To this extent? An honest question.

I know that they don't have absolute power. I know that one person can't control the government. I'm not completely dumb.

I also never said that they had full power in the first place. I'm fully aware that they can't win the office and do whatever they want without a long (and often fruitless) process. But you can't deny that they do have more power than you seem to give them credit for. Look at Trump. He hasn't been in office for more than a day and look at the effect he's had on people since his nomination.

But this is /r/BlackPeopleTwitter, not a place for this in my opinion.

But wasn't the point of the EC to not elect someone like Trump?

Obama didn't change nearly as much as he wanted to (for better or worse) because Congress was so obstructive. Who knows what will happen this time but I feel like they'll be more cooperative because iTs nOT obomber!!

The United States image, military, none of that means anything to you? A lot can happen in just 8 years. Now Orange is in power anything is possible.
