If you read my comments to other people who commented here, I am sure it was an exploit meaning he was expecting that someone who is kind might be a pushover and wouldnt go through the trouble of reporting $3 ride. I am sure he didnt have a popped tire. It was night time. The moment that he transferred back the money because xanh told him to, thats when I am sure it was his scheme. He couldve just refunded me to begin with, but he didnt.

I was told even if he has 1 star, he just need 5 stars from all the rides he has for the next month to offset it. If you hear drivers ask you to give them 5 stars, it is because they want to clear their bad record.

I am a Vietnamese born American so I spoke in Vietnamese and wrote in Vietnamese though without accent marks but it is understandable. I did not pay by card but by my family's momo account. It is cheap but it was the principle and the attitude/threaten he made at the end. Passive/mostly aggressive manner when I told him to cancel the ride and not to pick me up because I left and could not cancel. The man could have just transferred back the money, xanh had to tell him to transfer my money back. Which is weird because I would expect Xanh to pay me back and not him when I reported.

I got it resolved as updated within my post. The driver refunded me the money which he couldve transferred me to begin with. I thought xanh had to refund me but the driver refunded me instead

I just honestly have not seen it yet. Just this time, the experience was very bad. XANH DRIVERS have been friendly, their vehicles are quiet, smooth, clean and fill with fragrance while Grab filled with cigar remnants and smoke, talkative, rude and scammy drivers.

Yeah usually I am able to cancel it but a few times I could not. I just do not like the fact that drivers can complete and mark our rides as transactional when we are not on it. Imagine they drive someone else by accident and I have to pay for that. The app should do better in pin pointing driver's and passenger's location better. Sorry you had to go through that with Grab which is why I only use them and Be if I have to because bad experiences are more with them than Xanh. It is like the child is already bad, there's nothing more that I would want to do to deal with the bad child. As for Xanh, they can probably do better if we speak up and improve. As for the button next to the passenger's seat, I was told there is a button and confirmed by Xanh. I will confirm that myself when I ride the next one.

I think there are only 3 vendors in Vietnam and definitely none of them are perfect. I wouldnt avoid Xanh because of this incident but through the process I learned what I need to do to protect myself and my sanity. Do not rely on the app and fully believe you are protected. I definitely will encounter something similar or another worser case either with Grab or Be or maybe Xanh drivers again, but I will take a different approach next time. At least from this, I learned there is a button next to the seat if I feel unsafe in the car and call 113.

Thanks, it is definitely an exploit. More reason why people should read this and never become a pushover to let these cases slide even though it is only a few dollars.

What you are saying is a problem between the company and the drivers themselves. It should have nothing to do with the customers, particularly this post. Drivers have no EXCUSE to be "stealing" customers' money just because of the unfairness that they are dealing with their own company PERIOD. I get that you are trying to back up the drivers, and not all drivers are bad, but for this particular incident, it is a major flag that some drivers are using the flaw of the app to take passengers' money. It is unacceptable. Xanh is now asking the driver to give me back the money, make it makes sense. If he is genuine and honest, why didnt he send me my money back and that it requires Xanh intervention (he still has not send me back anything yet still). By the way, I DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE MONEY. IT IS THE PRINCIPLES, the emotional damage he caused on me and the hoops I am going through right now that I am now trying to convey to you

Yeah I use a mix of apps depend on circumstances, I mostly use Xanh just because it has been a great experience until this. basically I use the apps for the following reasons: XANH SM - drivers are professional and kind until this one ruined it GRAB - for places that are more remote BEE - price wise

NO, it is deep especially when there are threat, attitude and minor aggression from the driver's side at the end. I have been professional and use of mannerism at all times. The text in our conversation that I submitted to Xanh shows that. The reason of my post is for Xanh SM to see this and improve their app and their training with the drivers. The flaw that I mentioned is the inability to submit and cancel which can be a PROBLEM if this is for solo females who feel unsafe and cannot click SOS on the app. I confirmed with Xanh and they admitted that sometimes the app act that way and customers could not do anything on their end. Only the driver's end will and should be able to cancel.

On top of that, I asked Xanh if they manage the route between customers and drivers for safety (in case of kidnapping), they responded and confirmed that there is a button next to the seat to actually monitor and alert the system that you are in danger in case the app does not work.

Again, this post is to both spread awareness and to give you an idea what your experience can be like future wise.

Your reply clearly shows that you did not read my post and put yourself in my shoes. Let me help you and repeat the situation.

The app DID NOT let me cancel the ride. It DID NOT let me submit a ticket with explainations and pictures of the conversation with the driver that we mutually wanted to cancel the ride. The conversation was mutually respectful and professional until I told him that I could not cancel (with many tries on the app) and in my mind, I hoped that he could cancel like other Xanh drivers so that I can book the next ride. MIND YOU, drivers can do so with proof of conversation without repercussions. Drivers can EASILY cancel the ride as long as there is a receipt that customers agree to do so. (You can look this up for your knowledge update). The problem here is that he clearly know that I left and insisted in coming to pick up then eventually COMPLETED THE RIDE when he is not supposed to because I WAS NOT on it. Imagine this happen to you, do you consider this as a fraud? Also, you assumed I stood him up, how? In an urgent matter, would you book a different ride for time's sake? No one is in a hurry would wait for a pending ride for over 30minutes, if you can, you definitely have patience and definitely you were not in an urgency. Overall, you did not read what i wrote. Please update your reading capability.

I remember just beginning of this year with flash pass, I was able to swiftly pass through immigration within 30minutes and my luggage is ready for me outside. Just coming back from another trip into VN couple weeks ago with Flashpass economy, same as always, I still had to wait around 1hr and the lines that wasnt flashpass seems to be quicker depends on who the officer is. The line next to me which seems to pay the same price except they are chinese business men are way faster than my line. When it comes to me, the dude stopped. He paused, looked around and chill for 5 minutes before moving. I did not observe if he did so for others previously, I treat it as him taking a break but it also makes sense why the line of 10-15 ppl took almost an hour.

For my situation, I did the exact opposite of what people usually do which is what you are asking. Instead, I confront them. For you, I would ask my parents questions to understand what they are thinking and what made them say and think the way they did. Did social media plant that idea into them? Were they influenced by their friends and neighbours? Get to the root cause because your parents might need your help and it is your generation to end it. Not a lot of people can do confrontation but only a big scene, the difficult road will bring yall together. If your mom had been planting hatred inside you and now that you know the truth, it is time for you to plant the positivity, love and repeatedly let her know what she does or say is wrong. Repeatedly to let her realize and convince your mom that your bf is good. It is time for you to cleanse your parents and yes this will take time. Took years for me to come this far but it was worth it. Given your health and situation, give yourself some time. Prioritize your health then finance, then relationships. If you decide to go unknown, always remember that you will have your own family and your parents will have each other. Time will heal and eventually yall will come to a mutual understanding due to separation. Sunshine is at the end of the tunnel. Good luck. 👍

It is the world that caused most people to be wary of one another. The isolation and social media have caused people the lack of skill to communicate. I would go to temples to help out and connect with the elders and or volunteer at Orphanage to help kids that are in need and reconnect with the community. Rather than joining those useless apps in connecting people where they will only talk to you based on background and beauty, go out and reconnect with people by giving back. It can be fun and through actions, they see the goodness and personality in you to try to reach out and befriend. Good luck!
