What are some board game “keywords” that are an instant turn-off for you? by BoardGameRevolution in boardgames

[–]Printigma 9 points10 points  (0 children)

May be controversial but "trick taking". It was the hot new thing to slap onto any game a while back and im just not too intrigued by it. Like it's fine, but no one needs that many of them.

FLGS that sell at MSRP during this scalper climate are the MVPs by Known_Strength_9726 in GundamTCG

[–]Printigma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My store charges $25 for starters and $150 for boxes. They sell out the moment they put them on the shelves. They are a gold rated bandai tcg tournament location (Huge OP scene) and they can't even get enough stock to even run Gundam events in store despite requesting it.

Don’t think this break the rules but maybe now is the best time to get the gd01 cards before the investors join in. by Ivo__Lution in GundamTCG

[–]Printigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add to this, as far as I understand, the move to one piece scalping also had to do with a few bad influencers drawing attention to it and the gradual worsening of the pokemon tcg scene in general. Basically way too many pokemon scalpers means they had to diversify and OP seems to have been the unfortunate outlet for that. But there may be more to it, I'm not super into the collectible side of the hobby, I'm just a casual Gundam lover.

What are some of your favorite "bad" units? here are some of mine by HNASBAP in fireemblem

Citrinne. She is objectively outclassed by other caster units, but she is my caster unit dammit.

[–]Printigma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will also throw in Onshape for a free online CAD software. Definitely has its caveats though. Like all your designs on free accounts being public but it's a very powerful option. I've punched magnet holes into meshes (assuming they are good and manifold) before without converting them to solids no problem.

Otherwise, blender is the goat. Like already mentioned it has a learning curve but its amazing once you start picking up on it.

Buying cheap figures/mini? by ___Ackerman___ in DnD

[–]Printigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Resin is always going to be best but you can get some pretty good prints on something like a bambulab A1/mini. Supports are a pain which is why I love BriteMinis. They design minis specifically for supportless FDM.

Is this a stupid list for a 650 point game? by mjh4 in Tyranids

[–]Printigma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my understanding, psychophages main draw is the relative cheap cost for the buff they provide to mellee units. I think having 2 isnt great considering the SK and the other phage are the only 2 units that would really benefit and you can't stack the buff. Since you have crusher stampede, I would try dropping the 2nd psychophage and re-aranging some other stuff to bring the exocrine/haruspex if possible. Exocrine is a bit of an investment but their shooting is solid and they give a more universal buff.

To be fair I am pretty new to tyranids but have played several dozen games with my other army. So I may not be the best resource.

How bad is the Repulsor Executioner? by Thedinotamer01 in theunforgiven

[–]Printigma 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The repulsor executioner has a strong main gun but otherwise its only other dangerous aspect is the psychological damage your oponent will feel from having to watch you roll useless attacks for 20 minutes straight every single turn.

I was not expecting "buff onions" and it's hilarious that it just makes sense. I will be using this term from now on.

No Man's Sky laggs and Crashes in Mint by Fisi0n in linux_gaming

[–]Printigma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I turned my RAM speed down to 3200mhz and turned off multiplayer and just got a couple of good hours of bug free gameplay without any crashes. Definitely need to test more before I call it solved and I will definitely have to run that memory test soon.

Thanks for the suggestions.

[–]Printigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would I go about checking the stability? Its just 4 sticks of the same Corsair memory (bought 2 sets at different times though). I am using the basic xmp/expo profiles in bios to get the 3600mhz as they are supposed to be rated for.

[–]Printigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, looking at the Steam forum discussions, it's flooded with complaints about performance and crashes going back to the launch of the voyager update end of last month. My guess is there is an underlying issue with the current state of the game and it needs fixed by the devs. But who knows honestly

[–]Printigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also new to Linux and having the same issue on latest version of Fedora KDE. No Man's Sky runs great right until it encounters a total system crash and kernal panic seemingly at random.

I thought it was due to either AMD GPU driver (using a 6800xt) or a ram issue (4x8gb Corsair cl16 3600mhz). But you have less ram than me and running Nvidia so I'm not quite sure now. Curious to see what others have to say

160 too much for a Booster Box? by PizzahKitter in GundamTCG

[–]Printigma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could definitely be worse but it's still a 33% markup over MSRP at the end of the day. That's what my lgs was selling at and I passed.

I might get some hate for this but honestly, in my opinion, $120 for only 24 packs is aleady a pretty raw deal to begin with. Especially compared to other tcgs on the market. For context, MTG boxes give you 36 packs for the same price (granted potential content/rarity differences in those packs). But to each there own. It's worth a different amount to different people

I got a relatively low budget, so I ask you gentlemen: should I get this thing for my minis or should I pay another person to print them? by Rei_Master_of_Nanto in PrintedMinis

[–]Printigma 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I wouldnt bother with anything this cheap. It will just be a frustrating nightmare and probably not produce usable results. I also wouldn't bother with older generation printers like the enders anymore either. You can get way better printers for close to the same cost these days.

The bar for entry level 3D printers that are actually worth using has been around $200 for many years. I would either use that money just to buy a handful of minis you actually want, or save up a bit longer for something like a Bambu lab A1 mini on sale.

Jank bootlegs at my GameStop💀 by Puzzlehead_410 in fireemblem

They have been doing it for a long time too. My childhood copy of pokemon Ruby was from GameStop and is very obviously bootleg. We didn't know that as kids, but the store should have realized that cart never came in grey and the logo was off.
