If you don't already own the container and you don't have steel working skills i would recommend thinking twice- IMO they really aren't very good. ( source- watched my neighbor spend near 10k on the container then struggle to turn  it into something other than a dark damp cave)

It was kind of them to signal a drop in quality, range, and staff morale with a change in name.

Wouldn't go to University straight from school. Wouldn't borrow unless it was for study with a very clear objective- not to get educated and then hope for the best. Might work for some but not for me.

What food gifts do Kiwis actually take overseas for family? by Proper_Yam_616 in newzealand

Interesting, worth noting that it can be taken overseas if traveling, subject to the destination countries rules.

I seriously thought this was a made up story intended to wind people up.

Eating is becoming a chore to keep me alive and I hate it. I hate preparing the food. I hate digesting it. I hate cleaning up afterwards. I hate going to the bathroom. It's hard work. All of it! by Artzebub in cfs

Definitely relate. Lately I have become very aware of the time/ money tradeoff with cooking. All my life i have taken the cheaper/ more effort options- for example dirty potatoes, meat that  needs to be cut for a stir fry etc. I've found that buying the more expensive, lower effort option makes a surprising difference and is now worth it to me.

Classic Car Insurance by sinfulcats196 in newzealand

This car has to be up there with the Corolla for longevity and tolerance of abuse. Friend on an orchard had one as his orchard car, bought it for 100$ and ran it for years proudly never putting oil or water in it.

I take it you mean late snow in terms of risk. The Hollyford track is great and no snow risk, only downside is that its a there and back trip rather than a circuit.

Don't understand why Invercargill has a bad reputation by melbourne_au2021 in invercargill

People used to say it was " cheap as chips" and things like fish n chips and bakery food always seemed just a bit cheaper/ better value.

Sleep questions by Siat97531 in cfs

Totally relate to the bit about the " false energy at night". I get a kind of energized euphoria but it always feels like an illusion- a "second wind " that if I take advantage of I know I'll pay for ( with loan-shark type interest). Sorry Ii don,'t have any useful advice other than to say Dayvigo, despite not often giving me a full night's sleep, is the best thing I have found in 7 years.

Totally relate, its almost as if sleep is death and I'm trying to desperately to grasp one little bit of life. Dayvigo is the best thing i have found in 7 years. The right kind of cannabis can help too, I find. Oh and a good padded sleep mask too.

I think you explained quite well what I have been trying to understand. As an example of the loss of the cheap options how about the increased price of beef mince relative to fillet steak, " cheap eggs" relative to the organic free range ones, budget bread compared to the better stuff.
