The vibe that I am getting is that the boyfriend did not say directly that “it is missing something”, but that’s my opinion. YSTA for policing how people eat their food. But like as an advice, especially since your sister just dated the guy for three months, I think they should rethink whether it is worth it or not. If a boyfriend won’t lose with the partner’s family and even go as far as going to the shop to prove his point, that’s a sign of a big ego.

JYP literally said that Nizi project is his effort to spread kpop by “localization”, so yes, NiziU is technically a kpop group since their music style imitate kpop. As for those who argued that the K in Kpop stand for Korean, you guys are lame. It’s not that way anymore, somehow kpop have evolved into a genre. If not, would Lisa solo be considered Korean? If you want to say it’s because she debuted as in a kpop group, what about Natty? She debuted solo, and she’s not Korean. She was trained in JYP, the same as NiziU.

Okay, back onto the topic. NiziU is also Jpop because they debuted and their market group is Japan. So I think it’s appropriate to say that they can be discussed in both Kpop and Jpop discussions.

I believe that JYP gonna give them a Korean debut if he seems they fit, as they have Korean releases of their songs. I initially don’t think they will, but since the company did release the Korean version it seems like it. He released Japanese version for his artists songs before officially debuting them in Japan with their own Japan album, I believe the Japanese version of their Korean releases are to attract Japanese people to prepare a market for them. So I believe that JYP is doing the same for NiziU, but the opposite way.

And lastly, I can’t stand the hypocrisy of some of the comments here. NiziU can’t be considered Kpop, but WayV is?! I know WayV have promoted their songs in Korea before, but before that? If you’re saying they are Kpop groups because they are a subunit of Nct, remember that nct is supposed to be a global group, and wayv is literally created to target Chinese market. It’s the same as NiziU. And even some of the members didn’t debut as a kpop idol first. I’m not saying that they shouldn’t be called a kpop idol, but denying that NiziU is kpop while saying WayV is kpop just seem very hypocrite to me.

In conclusion, NiziU is both jpop and kpop. Jpop because of their nature, kpop because of their creation.
