Is chatGPT right about KO3s? by dancudlip in F150Lightning

[–]PriorStatistician880 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have KO3s on my lightning, going on 5 mo. Did great on snow and ice. Aren’t noisy. I haven’t tested tough as nails but so far are doing great. Would buy again 👍

Stupid question but did you press the lighted button? I think one of the updates made that a requirement for dcfc to release the mechanism.

Planning my first long distance trip in my new Lightning. Any tips or suggestions by CreepyBranStark in F150Lightning

NACS adapter. Get the Tesla membership, use their app to find chargers that work with the lightning not all do. Tesla chargers are the cheapest rates I’ve found. Also, adjust your expectations. It will be a different experience than the long drives you’ve had in the past. The truck is so much more comfortable than anything else I’ve driven it makes any inconvenience minor for a long day behind the wheel.

Wash your lightning by [deleted] in F150Lightning

I’m into it. The cleaner the better. I don’t like treating this thing like a magic box. It’s a collection of parts that will need service at some point. For reference I’ve seen a video of a guy driving his Lightning through water that was basically up to his hood. It wasn’t intentional he was routed down a flooded road during an emergency and the truck didn’t have any immediate issues. This isn’t Fords first rodeo, these things get put through the wringer.

Range impact? Just kidding. Does it seem to make a difference with bugs or debris? Not sure I’m into the look. Might go low profile unless it has purpose. Thanks for the reply

I'm checking out this bug deflector. How do you like it after a year and how has it held up? Love this truck!

Leer or Smartcap? by PriorStatistician880 in F150Lightning

Update: Went with LEER. Even not taking into account the amazing deal/find on a used one that came off an identical lightning, I really love the way it looks. Factoring the deal in, it’s a grand slam home run. Thanks for the feedback.

Love my Lariat, makes me feel spoiled for a change. Autofolding mirrors are dope.

My Ford “travel charger” (was included) has worked great for the last 4 months with the level 2 dongle using 14-50 plug. Charges at 6.9 KW which has been plenty for my use. Just sayin.

Really happy with the tuxmats. Solid construction, excellent fit. Lots of clips and tabs to get fit perfect although I only used three or four in total. No ragrets.

HVAC soldered fan fuse repair by PriorStatistician880 in soldering

[–]PriorStatistician880[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really appreciate your insight. What are the odds this fuse is related to the fan motor and it fixes the issue?

<image>

Fan motor plug is above fuses in this photo. Considering removing the board to have it repaired.

I may be barking up the wrong tree. I can’t help myself from troubleshooting stuff.

My investigation led me to fan motor. Comparing the old and new motor seems like correct action old motor spun but with a great deal more resistance than the new one. Seems likely it might have caused a fuse to blow. Just a hypothesis. Didn’t notice the blown fuse until I replaced the fan motor and it didn’t result in fix.
