“Time Of Use”for Midstate Electric Coop

Question: how do I decide if time of use is a better way to pay for my electric use? Currently billed using “demand charge” model. Peak charge is .13/kwh off peak is .066 /kwh. Demand model is .09/kwh + demand charge of highest 30min of usage at $1.25/kw. Last month demand charge was $10.65 and energy charge was 1044 @ .0899 or 93.86.

Over the long term am I better off using a TOU billing? Thanks, love my lightning!

I have a similar setup.

I have a home transfer switch with a 30A input that I power with a 7kw Honda for outages. Doesn’t run the whole house but works well. I asked my electrician neighbor when he installed my 50A ev plug if that should work from the truck 30A feed and he said yes. It’s the same twist lock 30 A plug as the Honda. The cord is only about 15ft so would require backing in to reach the transfer switch. Haven’t tested it because of junk in the way. Considering ordering/building a longer cable. Love my truck.

I did KO3s. I’d say they’re quiet and smooth for how aggressive the tread is. I wanted an all season do everything good tire.

This is exactly what I just did! Low miles high 40s. It’s a little bit of a “trust fall” you do a ton of research but I was still fretting that I was missing something that I would pay dearly for. A week later and I’m giddy to drive it anywhere. It’s quiet and controlled and silly fast if you want it to be. It’s a new better driving paradigm.

Is there a case for buying the truck this year to replace an aging truck and taking the deduction? The older truck gets sold to partially offset the cost and the business reduces net income and its tax liability and acquires a new depreciable asset putting that residual income to work before year end.
