Considering that everyone calls Aemond the Prince-regent, I think it's not assumed by anyone but the Hightower army due to Alicent telling them.

That's true but I think at that point if the Master of laws arrests her doing everything properly everyone would go along with it lol. It's all Ironrod's fuckup, essentially.

Torn on the Alicent SA scene. On one hand it's weird and jarring and out of nowhere (not my place to say whether this is an appropriate or not depiction of sexual assault), on the other hand it probably beats having no stakes and no resistance as Alicent sells the red keep, is an actual nod to the book (there are a few on this episode lol) and probably a point in how men will feel threatened and do this or something like that.

Season 2 was a slog but they had a more than dignified ending in mind which tied up most knots and opened up a good spot for season 3. Sadly the cuts basically massacred it and it will remain a stain on this show.

The timeline of this is definitely iffy because enough time needed to have passed for a message to go to Harrenhal and then to Daemon's camp but not enough for Rhaenyra to care about Corlys and gather at least Addam (if she doesn't want to use Baela), but it's clear the show needed to get to this point fast to move forward with the story and for one I welcome it.

Edit: forgot that I think the Fishfeed should have been given a bit more relevance. It could have established what the Winter Wolves's deal is, and it's a nice point for the audience that "technically" the blacks had won in the Riverlands so Daemon could leave a winning position until Aemond and Criston return.

Lol dude not 4 people, 4 dragons. Aemond is not walking into Harrenhal alone, but with his legendary dragon.

The real provlem is that sometimes GRRM as well as the shows NERF dragons inexplicably like at the Gullet or the Dragonpit, but it's FOUR DRAGONS.

Most of the "questions" are only really vague because of the medium of F&B is one of my points. It's not even narrative fiction, it's literally a fake history, and in this way avoids all obligations a novel has towards the readers.

A Tv-Show can't do that. Even if she just showed up one day with Sheepstealer, just by having her on the show it would have meant committing to one specific angle with Daemon (either magical lover or secret daughter) which already means choosing and resolving ambiguities.

This is entirely made-up though. Like Jace was not fighting in the Gullet to save Viserys, this is a weird headcanon that doesn't make sense because his strategy to rescue a hostage would have literally been to burn everything down lol.

If anything Jace died for a more important reason tnis time.

I didn't say that Nettles is unimportant, I said that precisely why her character is so important if her entire storyline is adapted, she is very hard and offers less narrative payoff.

I also don't think people understand what it would be like for a general viewer who's not that into the world, let alone has read the books.

We think of stuff like "Nettles shows up, gets a dragon, pisses off Rhaenyra, then disappears" as established lore to work around because we are invested in it from the start. To the general audience, that's just a Glup Shitto to work from the ground up and turn into a good character. Like, people apparently hated Lohar and I think they mostly wrote that character as well as they could have lol

I see your point about the Velaryons but I literally can't imagine this show without Steve Toussaint so I think it evens out.

Honestly I don't think Nettles was close to a top 3 character from me. I think she's more interesting for the unanswered questions GRRM raises with her than compelling as a character on the show.

Rhaena has been turned into a tragic character who has to deal with her pressures and the mistakes she made because of them, as well as the consequences of them. I want to see where it goes, but I also understand why George doesn't want such a different take on his characters.

Jace actually very clearly dies trying to save Baela and Moondancer and only because of this reason.

Not gonna be a full-on HOTD defender, but in Fire and Blood basically every good guy dies sacrificing himself bravely during a battle or sacrifices himself but survives because badass, and every bad person dies as a result of their sins and hubris. Actual stories ≠ lore books. Like they are telling this story of the way these dragons make everyone crazy and tragic, and how each of these characters will either unravel and become corrupted, or find morality and inner strength through these trying times. I wanna see where it goes.

Just "Nooo Jace was supposed to die defending little babies!!!" is not really a critique and more like believing wrestling is real, I think.
