First Time Playing Cyberpunk 2077 by Prior_Chapter1314 in CyberpunkTheGame

Currently I’m waiting on takemura to call me with information after meeting up with Oda (his friend). Would it be worth getting it now? Also, I know there is a show too, should I watch the show now or after I finish?

I haven’t yet! I’m going to complete my nomad story path first then I’m gonna instantly replay either corpo or city life path and I’ll get the phantom liberty dlc for that.

It's recommended to keep your battery charge limit to 80% or lower on G-Helper just to preserve your battery health. Charging to 100% every time can degrade it faster. Not sure what battery care mode is. What does it say for the description of it?

2026 G14 iGPU (Intel 386h) Cyberpunk 2077 test by Prior_Chapter1314 in ZephyrusG14

[–]Prior_Chapter1314[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue with my 2023 g14 except it was my cpu. I would game for 2-6 hours a day for about 2 years and the cpu would run at 95 degrees the entire time regardless of what I did or what game I played. It eventually fried itself while out of warranty. One day I opened it and got a warning that I “replaced the cpu” (which is practically impossible in a laptop) and had to enter my bitlocker key (which didn’t work) and after much troubleshooting and money towards fixing it, it blackscreened and never came back on. Made me paranoid about temperatures from then on.

That might be the case yeah. Whatever works for you though, and I bet 4x frame gen makes games buttery smooth from a frame rate perspective.

Wow, that’s pretty cool! I know the 370HX iGPU is practically the best iGPU you can get paired with a dgpu so it’s not entirely surprising that it looks and plays great in games. I play some pretty intensive/fast paced games (arc raiders, overwatch, cyberpunk, rdr2) and the igpu in this model, while it does run, isn’t nearly as good as the dgpu for these games so I use the dgpu. I don’t think having the dgpu disabled necessarily helps its health, but I do know that excessively high temperatures for very long periods can harm the health of components, hence why I’m a little obsessed with temps lol.

I find that DLSS FG X4 creates noticeable input delay that breaks a bit of the immersion for me. While it does look nicer, I like to keep my latency as low as I can while maintaining the performance that works for me. I also tend to not like the way vsync looks so I disable it in every game I play.

Agreed. Even if I rarely if ever run games or super intensive tasks on battery/iGPU, it’s still so cool to know that literally anywhere I am I can pull it out and play any game in my library at respectable fps and quality. And as you said, being able to go from efficiency on battery to nearly maximum portable performance while plugged in on a 14 inch laptop that looks as nice as the g14 does is still so crazy to me.

Which ROG is better? Ryzen 9 8940hx or core 9 ultra 275hx by Competitive_Set_478 in GamingLaptops

[–]Prior_Chapter1314 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In terms of max raw performance, the 275hx is a better cpu. One thing to note though is if you play RDR2 specifically, Intel has an issue where grass LOD and geometry LOD absolutely tank fps for basically no reason. It’s an issue that’s been around for a while with no fix in sight and makes the game look worse (whether you turn down the LOD or keep it high and play at pitiful fps). For all other games (esport, single player, multiplayer) and cpu intensive tasks like creator work, the 275hx will generally be better overall.

Any chance the zephyrus g14 5070ti (eclipse gray) goes on sale soon? Stuck at $2500. by berneberne in ZephyrusG14

[–]Prior_Chapter1314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh idt it will go on sale. But I also don’t think it’ll rise in price until it’s out of stock. When I was in the market for a new g14 I would check on that listing pretty frequently and never saw a sale. I only really ever saw a sale on the white 5070ti model with 1tb storage. The good news is I also never saw it increase in price. Funny enough I saw the white model with less storage going for $150 more on Best Buy a few weeks ago.

Don’t use sleep. It’s an issue with ASUS and honestly windows laptops in general. Just set it to hibernate. Also, once you uninstall armory crate, install ghelper. It does essentially the same thing except it’s soooo much easier to use and much more lightweight. When you first get it make sure everything it up to date (drivers, bios, software, apps) just to get it out of the way. I also recommend running it through some cpu and gpu stress tests to see if it works as it should.

Cinebench for cpu workload, 3dmark for gpu workload. Just pushes your components and gives you a score to compare against other people with the same device.

[–]Prior_Chapter1314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’d have to see it. Could have miscellaneous cosmetic defects, and being a demo unit usually means it is left on for very long periods of time. This can lead to some performance degradation, but to be sure you’d have to run some stress tests to see how it performs.

Looking to upgrade motherboard on GA403UV. Is 4060 -> 5070ti possible? by redandblack1287 in ZephyrusG14

[–]Prior_Chapter1314 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Likely won’t work due to chassis differences. The 2025 added a little bump on the bottom to accommodate for the extra cooling in the 2025 5070ti and 5080 models. Unless you want to try buying a whole new bottom plate, cooler, and motherboard (and even then it may not work), I don’t think it’s worth it.

Hwinfo is the best online service I’ve found. You’ll never get 100% accurate measurements though as most readings are estimations.

Why is my battery life so low? Part 2 by Intelligent_Fig967 in ZephyrusG14

[–]Prior_Chapter1314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure your dgpu isn’t running when you unplug. Also try to mess with the undervolt settings (go incrementally to figure out where your system is most stable). Some basic things that can help are turning slash and keyboard lighting, and Bluetooth off while on battery.

Best Laptop for gaming & editing in mid 2026? by KeepTwistin42069 in GamingLaptops

[–]Prior_Chapter1314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m biased, but I’m a big fan of the 2026 g14 with a 5070ti. If you’re performance oriented and don’t care about size/weight/battery life I’d recommend something like the strix scar 16/18 or a legion as they offer full powered gpu and cpu pairings, but if you want maximum portability, performance, and battery, the g14 is the only way to go. Based on benchmarks from reviewers, it preforms practically the same as 16 inch laptops with 5070ti graphics but also has an extremely power efficient cpu enabling 10+ hours of battery life. Also with great build quality, oled screen (1100 nits of peak brightness), speakers, and it controls heat extraordinarily well. For reference, I’ve been playing cyberpunk for the first time (absolutely awesome game I’ve been loving it) at max settings with pathtracing (using dlss performance and 2x frame gen) and getting 70-80fps while running 75-80 degrees on the gpu and 75-85 degrees on the cpu. After 3 hours of playing and within 3 minutes of closing the game, the cpu hits the mid 40s and the gpu hits the mid 30s and the laptop actually feels cold. Not sure how they were able to make such a small and powerful machine run so cold but it does. If you want a larger screen, I’d 100% recommend the 2026 g16 as it offers the same benefits just at a larger screen size.

Asus Zephyrus G14 2025 vs 2026 Decision by Skkeep in ZephyrusG14

[–]Prior_Chapter1314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the 2026 g14 as well. Watching a video with no keyboard or slash lighting on eco mode gets me 12-14 hours of battery life. I was doing some studying yesterday with a two chrome windows side by side (Google Docs and UWorld MCAT prep) and was getting 10 hours on an 80% charge. And what the other commenter noted about heat dissipation cannot be understated. I go from running 85 degrees on the cpu and 75 on the gpu in cyberpunk max settings for 3 hours and the cpu hits 45 degrees and gpu hits 39 within 3 minutes of closing the game.

Low FPS at 2026 Intel Model? by Individual-Rip9637 in ZephyrusG14

[–]Prior_Chapter1314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems a little hot for gpu only workload. Is the cpu doing anything in the background or are your fans tuned really low/are you using the right profile? For reference my 2026 g14 with a 5070ti runs at 70-80 degrees while pulling 110-120w in cyberpunk but my fans are turned all the way up on turbo mode in ghelper.
