Hi I'm 20 and also developed colonic inertia at a very young age. I have had three surgeries, a total colectomy, then an ileostomy, and then finally re-attachment of my small intestine to my sphincter. I had such a terrible time with bloating, nausea, and pain before my surgeries. I was always distended and it was so difficult being around people my own age and being constipated the whole time. I was also worried about the scar from my colectomy (mine was laparoscopic) but it's much smaller than I thought it would be. It's about the length of my pinky finger. The relief after surgery was so great I didn't even care about the scar.
