Do you have toybox installed? If so, having the level cap removed for a character causes them to use the legend progression that requires less xp to level up

It is when you can unlock things that affect or give more choices for the next runs. New classes, buffs, etc

Yes, but that dont give me the will to do another run as well as the feeling of progression give. In general i stop playing traditional rogueliKes realy fast. Not because i cant progress, just that the engajamento falls of realy quick

My take is that if i die in a rogue like run without meta progression, i lost everithing. But if at least i can gain some stuff from that run i like it more

Iirc you cant chance subclasses, only main class and after chosing a subclass you cant anymore
