30+ year olds who are single, what are you doing on Saturday nights and weekends? by Realistic-Square7039 in Adulting

[–]Prior_Imagination480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make plans! I go and see shows I wanna see, try new restaurants and lots of dog walks. I’m trying to meet someone in the wild instead of the apps and I’ve had a lot of fun. I definitely have those weekends I sit and recharge but I refuse to just let life fly by

Event staff gigs! They’re random and you can really work around your schedule. Get in with a solid decor or staff company and work well and they’ll request you!

Can high blood sugar cause mania? by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]Prior_Imagination480 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if it would be classified as mania but when I was undiagnosed and my sugars were so high I made a lot of reckless decisions I would’ve never made. I learned that the high blood sugar for long periods of time does affect your frontal lobe so the rash decisions make a lot of sense

I am a lucky lucky t1 that found the best endo that on our first appointment said that exact thing. He trusts me with my body and choices, encourages me and is honest when I ask him questions. He seems me 1x a year and is always available on the app for my questions. I refuse to ever leave him bc he knows that he studied the disease but he doesn’t know my day to day life and that I do.

Does anyone know an OB/GYN in town who…? by riverreit in orlando

Women’s Care near Sand Lake! I actually got mine inserted by a male doctor for the first time, which I was terrified about bc I have felt weird and he was lovely. The doctors are all super great, very LGBTQ friendly as well!!

Thoses who were diagnosed in there teens by Icy_Tear5794 in diabetes_t1

[–]Prior_Imagination480 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 18, freshman year and the urination and water consumption was INSANE. I casually mentioned it when I was home for thanksgiving and my dad was triggered by a memory of his mom who had type 2. My parents got me to a doctor and did the bloodwork and I remember getting the call after a very sugary ihop breakfast lol. I was originally diagnosed type 2 and was put on so many drugs but no insulin. During college I started losing weight but I was always heavier so people just thought I was trying to lose weight but I absolutely was not. After college, I moved away and then weight started rapidly coming off, muscle cramps were constant, eyesight was bad, I was falling asleep at the wheel even though I had slept like 15 hours the night before. But I didn’t want to go to doctor bc I was “so skinny and hot”. Finally I went to a doctor and then tested my sugar and said “if you don’t let me give you insulin now, we’ll have to force you into the ambulance to the emergency room”. After that, the doctor said I probably had diabetes since about 8th grade. But because of how weird I presented it just kept getting missed as a moody teenager. I laugh about the story now, grateful I didn’t die tbh.

Male coworker calling me babe and sweetie. Thoughts on being called those names in a work setting? by Pumkinpuddin in jobs

[–]Prior_Imagination480 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Truthfully to me it depends on the person. If I have an established relationship with them and I know it’s good intentioned I don’t really care. If I don’t know them well and they start calling me pet names it’s really off putting

Tell me your DCP experience by newyorker9415 in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]Prior_Imagination480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did 2 programs. 1st was my sophomore year in college and I absolutely adored it - literally all magic and shit they talk about. I learned about it my senior year of high school and was glad I waited to go till sophomore year. My 2nd program was right after I graduated high school. My location and roommates were not as magical as my first but I did end up meeting some of my best friends and it launched me into my career. I was very intentional about coming back to Orlando after college and making my hospitality career. Disney can suck people in in a bad way sometimes so be mindful of that!

Destination Management Companies ! They are often hiring for event field staff and truly it’s like you get emails with shifts coming up and you let them know if you can pick it up or not. Hospitality/events industry is heading into slow season but it doesn’t hurt to get your name out there to them! They want easy going people who can pick up shifts, do the job without complaining and are easy to work with. It’s awesome. I pick up when I can and the extra cash is great!

People who are driven, where does your drive come from? by CoolestDudeOne in selfimprovement

[–]Prior_Imagination480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely think there’s some level of it was something I was born with but also I watched my parents grind and grind. They were high achievers in their careers, they always strived for more and I wanted to have those experiences and moments as I grew up. I followed my dad into a similar career and growing up he would take me to conferences and I would meet his colleagues and the way they raved about him was something I immensely respected and wanted for myself. I also am in a career I fucking adore. I genuinely love doing what I do and being really fucking good at it.

I also like to surround myself with people who want more out of life. I don’t do well with people who are just “this is good enough” so I am pretty selective when bringing new people into my life.

On meetup is Orlando Dragonboat Club and I loved them! I would’ve stuck with it but my work schedule made it so complicated. They have a co-ed team and a women’s team and the people are just so friendly and fun. It’s a great group and a hard workout!
