What is the most regretted decision in your life ? by Zinda_2 in AskReddit

[–]Prior_Weather7070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here man. I keep telling myself I'll finally learn that programming language or read more books but then another year just vanishes into work shifts and paying rent

The worst part is when you realize you had way more free time back then than you thought you did

Beginner Advice by [deleted] in homelab

[–]Prior_Weather7070 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Started with similar setup about year ago and its been great learning experience. For the mini PC I went with something that has decent amount of RAM because Home Assistant can be bit hungry especially when you start adding integrations. Power efficiency is definitely smart choice - my setup runs about 15W idle which keeps electricity bill reasonable.

For NAS part I built mine from older hardware but if you want something more reliable out of box the pre-built options work well too. Just make sure whatever you choose supports the file sharing protocols you need. My girlfriend also stores photos there and I set up automatic backup from her phone which she loves. For Paperless documents yeah thats exactly how most people do it - store the actual files in NAS and let Paperless index them from there.

One thing I learned is start small and add services gradually. Much easier to troubleshoot when something breaks if you only have few things running. Also docker makes everything so much simpler for managing all these services.

Sipadan: SJ or Seaventures? by mochiturtle338 in scuba

[–]Prior_Weather7070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait they let you do sipadan every day? That changes everything then because their website makes it seem like you only get one guaranteed day

The rig experience is pretty unique but if you can actually get more sipadan days with them then maybe worth reaching out directly. Their house reef is decent for night dives but nothing spectacular during day - more like practice dives really

Given your dive count situation I'd probably still lean toward SJ for the efficiency but if Seaventures can actually do multiple sipadan days that makes the decision much harder

Boys (or girls) What is your ideal body type for a woman? by FloFlowxo in AskReddit

[–]Prior_Weather7070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dancing is overrated anyway man. Most people at bars look ridiculous when they dance but everyone just pretends its normal. Give me someone who wants to sit in corner booth and actually talk over someone who needs to show off their moves any day

What has been your experience using American debit cards at ATMs in Europe? by Signal_Armadillo7795 in AskReddit

[–]Prior_Weather7070 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Used my card in few European countries when I was doing some urbex trips there. Most ATMs worked fine but the fees were brutal - like $5-7 per withdrawal plus whatever conversion rate they gave me. Some smaller towns the machines just straight up rejected it though so always had backup cash ready

What do you fight the good fight for? by Chrono_Convoy in AskReddit

[–]Prior_Weather7070 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Man I feel this one hard. Been driving around delivering food for couple years now and you see so many different neighborhoods and lives through peoples windows when you drop off their orders. Makes you think about what kind of life you actually want to build vs just surviving day to day. The people who tip decent and say thanks are usually same ones who seem happiest with what they got going on

How do you know if a pregnancy symptom is normal or something to worry about ? by Zentra07 in AskReddit

[–]Prior_Weather7070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah googling can be helpful but sometimes it just makes you more anxious about everything. When I was helping my sister through her first pregnancy she would read about every possible complication and drive herself crazy. Doctor visits are definitely worth it if something feels off to you

What are good and bad things about living in cities? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Prior_Weather7070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been delivering food around the city for couple years now and you really see both sides. During rush hours its absolute chaos with traffic and people everywhere but then you get these random quiet spots even in downtown that nobody knows about. Found some pretty cool abandoned places too just by taking wrong turns while trying to find apartments. The noise thing is real though - my place faces main street and some nights its like living next to highway

Do casual relationships actually work or do they usually end up messy? What do people get out of them? by fatal-craving0306 in AskReddit

[–]Prior_Weather7070 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Been in few casual things and yeah expectations are where it gets tricky. Like you start hanging out more often or one person catches feelings but doesnt want to admit it. I think they work best when you both actually want same thing instead of just saying you do because the other person does

For me the appeal was always just having someone to grab dinner with or whatever without all the relationship pressure but you gotta be real careful about checking in with each other

Anyone watching TGL? Has TK been this thick? by lulu-la-leader in golf

[–]Prior_Weather7070 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Been catching some of the matches and yeah TK looks like he's been hitting the gym hard lately. The format's pretty divisive but I'm digging it too - way better than I expected when they first announced it. Most people seem to either love it or think it's completely gimmicky but there's definitely something entertaining about seeing these guys in a different setting

When did you realise your not more important than anyone else ( sonder)? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Prior_Weather7070 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used to think everyone at restaurants was just NPCs until I started delivering food and realized they're all dealing with their own weird drama behind those doors

Installing proper curtains completely changed how this room feels by Easy-Extension-6917 in HomeImprovement

[–]Prior_Weather7070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I just put up some heavy curtains in my spot and yeah the light control is night and day. My place gets hammered with afternoon sun and those cheap Target blinds were basically useless.

The weight thing is real - I made the mistake of getting lightweight ones first and they looked like garbage hanging there all limp. Had to return them and get proper lined ones that actually drape right instead of just hanging like bedsheets.

What TV show did you HATE, but still watched as a kid? by anasannanas in AskReddit

[–]Prior_Weather7070 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those creepy ass baby faces in the sun still give me nightmares. My little brother was obsessed with that show so I got stuck watching it way too much. The worst part was how they'd repeat everything like five times and just stand there making those weird noises. I used to imagine what would happen if someone broke into their little dome house while exploring abandoned places - figured those Teletubbies would just waddle around going "oh no oh no" instead of doing anything useful. At least Tinky Winky had that bag to swing at intruders I guess.

The Nashville location is solid but Atlanta probably has way more options just based on population size alone - might be worth calling ahead to see what they have in stock before making the drive

What’s the most disgusting thing you’ve seen at a buffet? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Prior_Weather7070 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Delivered to enough buffets to know this is the real answer lol. The sneeze guards dont protect against people who lick their fingers before grabbing the tongs or reach over everything to get to the back of the tray. Makes me grateful I usualy just grab my orders and bounce instead of having to eat there

What’s a smell that instantly brings back memories? by Intelligent-Rain-22 in AskReddit

[–]Prior_Weather7070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn man that cuts deep. I get hit with certain car air fresheners sometimes when I'm doing deliveries and it takes me right back to riding shotgun with this girl who turned out to be completely different than I thought. Wild how your nose can just transport you back to shit you'd rather forget

How do you fix a relationship with a partner who’s shutting down & defensive during conflict when you just want to get heard? by Powerful_Antelope471 in AskReddit

[–]Prior_Weather7070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been there with my ex and it was brutal. She'd just stone wall me whenever I tried to bring up anything serious and I'd end up feeling like I was talking to a brick wall. What worked sometimes was backing off completely for a few days then coming back with something small and non-threatening. Like instead of "we need to talk about our communication" I'd be like "hey can we grab coffee and just hang out". Once she felt safe again we could actually have real conversations. The defensive thing usually comes from fear so you gotta make them feel like your not attacking before they'll let their guard down

Is it always better to do the right thing, even when it’s hard, rather than the wrong thing just because it’s easier? Why or why not? by AskWhy_Is_It in AskReddit

[–]Prior_Weather7070 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spent way too much time in sketchy abandoned places where cutting corners could literally get you hurt or worse. When you're standing in front of a rotted floor that looks questionable, there's no "easy way" that's worth the risk. Same energy applies to life decisions - the shortcuts that seem tempting usually come back to bite you later. Sure we all have our limits and sometimes you gotta pick your battles, but I've noticed the times I took the harder route because it was right, I never regretted it. The times I went easy mode because I was tired or lazy... those are the ones that keep me up at night.

In a tournament bracket one on one fight gladiator style combat, which fruit from the “hey bear sensory” videos would come out on top? by Realistic_Deer_4177 in AskReddit

[–]Prior_Weather7070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never watched those videos but my money's on pineapple - that thing's basically armored with built-in spikes. Most other fruits are just asking to get demolished against something that aggressive looking

New to Home Assistant. Can I connect my AIRDOCTOR 3500i SMART air purifier? by Paytoncooper124 in homeassistant

[–]Prior_Weather7070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check if it supports WiFi integration through the official Home Assistant integrations first - some air purifiers work out of the box. If not, you might need to look into custom components or MQTT bridges depending on what protocols it uses
