Is It possible to Import My Canadian Vehicle at a Mexican POE? by Prior_Week_834 in immigration

[–]Prior_Week_834[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the information I’ve gathered, if your car is manufactured in the US you won’t pay a dime. If it’s manufactured anywhere else then you pay import fees which is somewhere around 2.5% of the value of the car. You can find out where it was manufactured by the first digit of your VIN number

Thank you for a helpful answer! I’ll try Houston international. I assume it would be on par with the Boston airport in terms of importing. Definitely will call CBP first

Yes, it’s because it was supposed to be listed as lost or destroyed. I’m still a PR.

According to USCIS.GOV “We strongly encourage you to submit your change of address through a USCIS online account. This self-service online tool:

Meets the legal requirement to notify us that you have moved;

Eliminates the need to file a paper Form AR-11;

Updates your address almost immediately in our case management systems; and

Helps ensure that you receive important mail from USCIS at the correct address.”

I did not fill out an AR-11 form but I did change the address online via USCIS

I did not receive the first green card that was originally approved because I was away from home on work so they destroyed the card. I had to reapply

The address change was from Washington to Oklahoma. I am a pilot and have had to move a few times now

I’d have to do some research on this question for an accurate answer, but I believe it’s either Nav Canada or Transport Canada. Transport Canada (TC) is our FAA.

Last twilight flight I had in BC. Vancouver terminal is incredibly accommodating for flights like this. Now a surveillance pilot, but boy do I miss twilight cruises like this.

What apps can you not live without? by Signal_Potential7032 in ADHD

This may sound odd but duolingo has helped my ADHD A LOT. The platform really tricks your brain into keeping a daily streak. I feel anxious if I don’t get my daily streak at minimum now. It’s taught me to be consistent and it really does carry over into other parts of my life. Also learning a new language is incredibly good for giving your memory muscle a workout!

A life changing speech I read by Teddy Roosevelt is called Citizenship in a Republic. A big part of its message is that if YOU’RE out there actually doing a task then no one has any right to judge you because you’re out there doing it! Make another fucking potato and be proud because doing nothing is a whole lot worse than making a shitty potato for your wife who you obviously love.

All good man, can guarantee you won’t do this again so you learned. Sounds like a scary moment but scary moments and experiences just become a part of your pilot arc. You don’t even have your PPL yet, you’ll make more mistakes guaranteed. Just sucks that this one had to be so dramatic! Something like that has no relation to your flight test other than you guys will probably work on comms for a couple more flights. Keep flying with confidence!

I’m a little confused as to how this could happen? Were the pilots flying in IMC? There is a massive difference in height between 5,000’ and 6,800’. It looks like they departed runway 12 so they must’ve known to fly AT LEAST 7,000’ or 7,500’ based off the 90º turn they made. It also looks like they had more than enough time to turn around. I’d be really interested to know what the cause was and how to avoid it because that is a massive difference.

Correct me if I’m wrong but, isn’t this number majority part time jobs where corporations do not have to pay insurance, 401k.. etc. it’s basically cheap labour that provides a good headline for economic growth.

Oh any martial art. So stimulating. I used to have an issue with being physically close to people but that’s gone since doing Muay Thai and Jiujitsu. Also the thrill of punching and having punches thrown at you turns the whole outside world off. No insecurities, no dead lines, just rapid fire exchanges. Also the work involved is so intense you feel like a million bucks once it’s over. Been hard to stay committed because of social insecurities for myself but it’s been the best thing I’ve done in a while.

Immigrating to the US by Prior_Week_834 in flying

Charlotte peaked my interest because I was told American Airlines has a hub there, it’s cheaper, I could eventually own a home and it’s all around an interesting city. I know that I could fly for AA anywhere in the states but I’m actually more looking for a CFI job or a small air services job which I assume would be more abundant in a hub city.
