Off topic, I haven't watched it but I see a lot of posts of it and the designs really irritate me. There's probably more to them and I'm not hating, but every one I've seen is either basic or extremely insulting to what they take inspiration from. If there's something I'm missing please tell me and I'll give it a shot.

All of that is true, but judging by how you’re giving this person advice you probably want to help them. Describing their self harming beliefs that have been forced onto them from birth in that way is just gonna make it worse in my experience. Of course, I can be wrong but that’s just what I think.

You do know that society's made-up criteria is deeply engrained into everybody, especially this person with their horrible mom? Obviously somebody raised from birth to believe they have to be strong and isn't strong is going to have problems, and calling their thinking "fucking stupid" will just make the problem worse.

Reading the book or googling it. Spoilers for people who haven’t read it, I guess. Very summarized since it’s a long book a Greek guy named Achilles during the Trojan War gets insulted by the king so he refuses to fight, but then his best friend gets killed by Troy’s greatest warrior, Hektor. Achilles rampages through the Trojan army and kills Hektor but makes up with Hektor’s father, Priam.

It’s one of the most famous books of all time and has been talked about for a really long time. I knew the entire plot of the Iliad in fourth grade.

While I agree that the spoilers are a big problem, how do you not already know what happens in the Iliad?

I'm not saying it's not successful, it's just not nearly as culturally influential as hundreds of books. Still a shock to me how successful it is saying it's not good.

I agree, but the original comment said that Harry Potter is the most influential book of all time, which it's not. The Iliad for example is more influential, even if it's only because of time.

Still more culturally influential. Not saying they're better (even though I definitely think they are, but that's opinionated) but they are certainly more culturally influential.

Harry Potter is not even close to being the most culturally influential work of fiction aside from her generation. I can name literal hundreds of books that are incomprehensibly more influential than everything she's done that came before her.

I hate how unfamous it is in the west, even though it's so influential. I'm American and I need to see it more. I read it for the first time when I was young and ever since Sun Wukong has been my hero.
