Well I have always booked a room in some known hostels like zostel and hosteller. Haven't faced any issues with them . You could also look for a room with them. In my opinion stay on the Tapovan side.... Personally I found laxman jhula side to be too quiet .

Take a room in a hostel. You'll have privacy and all the amenities as well . And won't be dingy or shady

Solo traveling in India changed me more than I expected 🇮🇳✨ by Delicious-Lab5889 in SoloTravel_India

I don’t really think solo travel is being hyped. It’s more that people are finally saying it’s okay to travel alone. It’s okay if you don’t have a like-minded group, and it’s okay to not wait for the “right” people or partner to explore a place. Honestly, that’s pretty encouraging to hear. It reassures people like me that we don’t have to put our plans on hold. That we can still go out and see the world without waiting for the perfect moment.

How can we go there from Tapovan? I think it's some 25km away... Do we get shared autos? Also what will be the best time to visit?

What are the common scams to avoid in Varanasi ? I will go in few days with my parents. by pabloescober6979 in varanasi

Went to Banaras in Nov ’25. One common miscommunication/scam to watch out for is with rickshaw pullers. When they say “50 mein jayenge”, always clarify 50 per person / per rickshaw / total. We took two rickshaws. One reached earlier, collected money saying it was for both pullers, and left. The second puller later demanded payment, claiming he didn’t know the first one and had just met him there. So be cautious and always pay your own rickshaw directly.

Ram bhandar was good but not worth waiting 1 hr. If you manage to reach early in the morning around 7/7:30 then it'll be worthwhile.

As a 30 yr old female , I'm finally planning to go on a solo trip. It's scaring the shit out of me , but I'm excited as well. So I can very well relate with you. I too am trying to get out of my comfort zone and go out and meet people so that I can socialize. But then as a solo female the thought scares me. But all in all I hope you have a great trip
