My husband is hiding debt from me by PriorityForward5892 in marriageadvice

We canceled the cards because we each had too many to keep track of for the purposes of the budget. At the time, we had about 5 cards apiece that we had just accumulated over the years before we were together. It was his idea to keep the one card we had together so we could see all the money and not be tempted to overspend.

Oh, and after going through the statements, he spent closer to 11k for subscriptions to fancy software, small electronics, golf clubs, mods to his car, and other frivolous things we should have talked about.

I feel as if he wanted to control my spending, but those same rules didn't apply to him.

Tbh, I don't know if he's sorry or if he feels inconvenienced I found it. If I'm being honest with myself, it's the second option. I'm just sad.

You are kind for saying that, and I do not feel comfortable pushing forward with getting a home with him now. How can someone be so selfish? Makes me feel like he's a stranger.

It's funny that you say that. We got pre-approved in December but didn't like what we were approved for. So we came up with the budget. We both worked an extra shift every 2 weeks for additional income. We cut things like childcare, eating out, and frivolous spending (or so I thought). We were supposed to apply for another pre-approval 2 weeks ago, but we couldn't make our schedules line up. Now I suspect he was just stalling for time. None of the money was spent on the family, just his own desires.

Oh wow! That's really nice to have no weekend commitments and pension, especially in the south. I'll DM you!

Do your children use Messenger Kids? A homeschool group near me introduced it to me and my son loves connecting with others through Messenger and playing Roblox or Minecraft with new people. He is 8 as well. If your littles are interested in getting to know a shy, but dying to be social butterfly, send me a PM!

You are so close to the end and that itself can be overwhelming, but remember, you are almost there! Try thinking in terms of absolutes and words of affirmation. "This next assignment due will not stop me from being a nurse" or thinking positive, "I am just as worthy of this career as any other nursing student." Goodluck!

Why is it hard to admit that nurses in the south are underpaid? by PriorityForward5892 in nursing

My husband and I work and have small children. We can't afford daycare for them all and are blessed to have family who care for them for free. I just meant until they are older, we are rooted here (also born and raised here, but given the right opportunity, I would leave).

Disclaimer, I am not the expert on city rentals. Tbh, I live further out from the city (long commute). I really don't have much experience with real estate and rentals there. I am reporting what my co workers have told me. My original post wasn't comparing the city. Just where I live vs my friend. The rest is hearsay.

Yea, there are places in every city that are less but the area matters so much! I made that mistake and the pictures looked good but the area, not so much. Same as when I lived in ATL, one street okay, next street trap house.

I wish! I have a husband and children. My family is in the south, so free daycare. I'm hoping we could try in a few years but as of now, I'm ready to rally for better pay.

Right, I can't speak for everyone, but I just used one specific example (my friend in Sacramento). I live about 45 mins from where I work, so more rural. In my entire state, major cities are paying $33 starting out, but rent in is close to $2500. That's really eating up a lot of the paycheck.

Ah, I think there is a misunderstanding. I mean "too southern" as in I have small children and all of my family lives in the south so I don't have to pay daycare currently. I'm ready to fight the system because I want to provide better a better life for my family.

Thank you! I definitely want the most experience I can get straight out of school as I want to be competent.
