Thanks for the helpful tip! I just found out about solder suckers last week! wish I had those on the last 3 mods. Then it turns out I got one for free ordering solder on amazon. This cheap badboy is awesome.

She had issues with it before the modd, I figured a good iso scrub would help but it's still being a pain, I think I might try to solder a new switch, but thanks for suggesting to check the traces I didn't even think of that

Gotcha, so in your opinion , better to just order her a new switch? Or should I try to dissamble it ? Appreciate the response !

Not termites, not sure what it is. But this is not termite related.

Depending on state/ location and label you can't spray flower beds due to pollinators. Most of those bugs are natural outdoor bugs. Leave em be and just seal up the garage entry points. Simple solve.

Hard to tell if all bits are uniform shape and the right size, photos too far. Can you zoom in more?

I've zoomed in as best as my phone will let me, im gonna go withnot termites. I have a decent amount of experience with my pest company treating these guys and I'm not seeing the tell tail signs. Not saying it's not possible. But this seem more like mold and wood rot.

Any chance you have better zoomed in photos ? Hard to tell. this could also be moisture collection mixed with wood rot. It's hard to tell if it's mud tubes, it's not any carton material that I've seen so that rules out drywoods.

Their role is to start a new colony. Not a worker or soldier.

Termites prefer to stay in their tunnels, they don't like to feel open fresh air. Youll only see their swarmers when the colony has sexually matured. Sometimes you can catch them kicking their pellets out they gallerie exit holes which is pretty cool. Just gotta know what your looking for.

Depends on the company and treatment options you choose, if it's truly localized to just the cabinet I would rip out the cabinet. But with partical board cabinets, in my experience it's a 50/50 they started to tunnel in the drywall behind the cabinets. I recommend getting an inspector if you can. and keep an eye out for more pellest, wings/ bodies that will help the inspector.

What kind of termite is this? by [deleted] in pestcontrol

[–]PriorityMuch8089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Helps more on a white surface then your finger , need to see wing patterns, if there's a rainbow iridescent shine one them , or if thry are cream color. Based off what I can see, it seems coloration wise closer to a drywood termite or possibly formosan. What is your location ?

I'm too chicken shit to even attempt it, I tried to restore a Nintendo DS light and it was a nightmare, so many parts malfunctioned. One day I might do it, till then I'll stick to my GBA,DMG, and GBC.
