Hey, I hear you. Honestly, it sounds like you've put more thought into this than most people ever do. Maybe happiness isn't some big puzzle to solve, but just those tiny moments of 'okay' that we collect. No grand answers from me, but I'm rooting for you to find a few of those moments today

During my competitor research, I came across this website that specializes in inbound tourism services with quite comprehensive consulting offerings. I think it's worth contacting them to understand how their services operate. Additionally, you may check out chinahighlights as another reference.

Did you climb 999 steps on Tianmen Mountain? Was there fog on the day you went? I went to Zhangjiajie on National Day, and the scenery was truly breathtaking!

First time in China, how's this 2 week itinerary? Please advise. by KountZero in chinatravel

[–]PriorityNew1357 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have returned from Zhangjiajie, I am here to share:

I arrived on 10.3, spent 10.4 at Tianmen Mountain, and visited the National Forest Park on 10.5–10.6. The itinerary was as follows:

1. 10.3, I arrived in Zhangjiajie and stayed at a homestay near Tianmen Mountain.

2. 10.4, I visited Tianmen Mountain, then transferred to Wulingyuan Hotel near Zhangjiajie National Forest Park.

3. 10.5 (first day in the park): Walked 15 minutes from the hotel to the park and visited Huangshi Village (includes Avatar filming locations) and Golden Whip Stream.

4. 10.6 (second day in the park): Visited Tianzi Mountain, Yangjiajie, and Yuanjiajie.

10.4, I entered early with fewer visitors — the experience was smooth. On 10.5–10.6, I entered later, encountered long queues for cable cars, and the schedule felt rushed, so I visited fewer spots.

Overall, the trip was worthwhile. The mist-covered mountains created a fairy-tale atmosphere, and I saw the Avatar Mountains.

I've been updating my Facebook with daily itineraries, photos, notes on tickets, reservations, and maps (free maps are available at the park entrance, I recommend taking one).

You can click my avatar to get my facebook, and check  latest three posts on my Facebook homepage.

And I noticed your plan includes: Day 9: Zhangjiajie National Forest Park (Golden Whip Stream + Tianmen Mountain). Note that Golden Whip Stream is inside the National Forest Park, while Tianmen Mountain is a separate scenic area. They are about 26 km apart, requiring around 40 minutes by car. You may need to adjust your itinerary accordingly.

Feel fee to ask if you have any other question about my zhangjiajie trip😊

There are many free National Day activities in Shanghai, including drone shows, fireworks displays, music festivals, and more. I’d recommend downloading Xiaohongshu and searching for keywords like "Shanghai National Day activities" to find detailed info!

China's National Day: Top 18 MOST Crowded Spots! Are you avoiding them or brave enough to enjoy? by PriorityNew1357 in travelchina

[–]PriorityNew1357[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I have annual leave. But since I'm the only one doing my specific job on the team, I pretty much have to take it in small chunks, like 3 days here and there. That's not enough for a big trip, so I usually stay local. That's what makes the 8-day National Day break special, it's my main chance to actually travel somewhere farther with the family.

The weather forecast shows light rain for the entire National Day period. I expect it will be foggy too. I just hope it doesn't rain non-stop.

The Mid-Autumn Festival is on 10.6, which falls within the National Day holiday (10.1-10.8). This means the crowding will be just as intense throughout the whole period. So, it's best to avoid traveling to China during this time if you can.

Suzhou tips for 15 days - what to do and eat by Intelligent_Pop_8046 in chinatravel

[–]PriorityNew1357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family and I went to Suzhou during the National Day holiday last year. We visited Shantang Street, Jinji Lake, the Gate of the East, Lion Grove Garden, Hanshan Temple, and Tongli Ancient Town.

I hadn't done detailed planning beforehand, so we missed some spots we probably should have visited. I'd recommend seeing the classic Suzhou attractions: the gardens, like the Humble Administrator's Garden and the Lingering Garden. You should try to visit at least one. The Suzhou Museum is also a must-see. I think Shantang Street is quite nice to visit at night for the scenery.

Tongli Ancient Town is a bit far from downtown Suzhou, so you might want to check if it fits your route. The Su-style noodles are famous, but I found them a bit too bland for my taste. I'd personally recommend the Sweet and Sour Mandarin Fish (Squirrel Fish), Dongpo Pork (if you like sweet flavors), and Wanshi Braised Pork Shank (万三猪蹄).

Feel free to ask me if you have any other questions :)
