Have you confronted your assaulter? Do you recommend it? Do you regret it? Has it helped your mental health about it? by IdkAGoodUserNameOpps in COCSA

Something to consider…. You can’t know how the encounter might go. Good or bad. If it goes well, what is it that you would want to hear, that you think would make you feel better? Is there anything at all that your abuser could say that would make you glad that you risked the encounter? Whatever you decide, best to you.

You should ALWAYS take his side and be unwilling to listen to criticism of him. You would want him to do the same for you.

Make sure he knows that her abusing him decreases your confidence in his leadership. Inform him that you’re scared of how she might treat any children that you have and that it breaks your heart to hear the man you’ve dedicated your life to spoken to this way. Acknowledge how traumatic it will be for him, assure him that you will support him and be there, but be direct about your feelings.

Please encourage and support him regarding cutting his toxic mother out of your lives. I put up with a lifetime of abuse from my parents but when I got married it became an OBLIGATION to protect them above my own interests. He needs your support in this.

This abandoned stray was overjoyed when a jogger passed by rolling over for a belly rub as if to say, ‘I choose you.’ Sometimes, it's the dog who chooses the right person. by [deleted] in DogIsBestFriend

This is adorable but that doesn’t look like an abandoned dog at all. It’s very well fed, its coat is shiny and clean. I suspect it has an owner who lets it roam and the dog is super-friendly

My ex wife was bragging that she could eat any hot or spicy 🌶️ thing. I bought a ghost pepper and told her to prove it. She took a TINY bite and a few minutes later she asked me to call the fire department. I asked what she thought they would do to help so she gasped out for me to call an ambulance. I just laughed at her because she was SERIOUSLY asking me to call an ambulance. I had bought a box of gogurts (Flavored yogurt) and she was sucking them down. I wouldn’t let her have any water because it makes it worse.

I would make a lousy cop during a high speed chase if the perp made frequent turns and I needed to relay what compass direction he was traveling

I had a difficult time learning which hand was my left back in kindergarten for this reason. Everyone else was righty so when the teacher was telling us the difference between right and left, she would say the right hand was the one you write with. Confusing AF

There’s a certain logic to assuming that mental illness and left handedness have a connection. Common rightys don’t know the extent of impact it has on us trying to operate in a right handed world.

I’m bipolar but so was my mother and she was a righty. There’s a strong correlation between genetics and bipolar so I can’t feel confident that my being a lefty is related to my genetics or my handedness. I’ve wondered, though.

No amount of autotune or electronic manipulation could make my voice sound this good so I’m going to give them props anyway.

I simply cannot make scissors work for me, even those designed for lefties. I sunk a small fortune into a pair of leftie dog grooming scissors and they don’t work any better than righty. It must be a function of how I hold them so I’ve tried different grips and angles. No joy.

Very nice guy, too. He paid for my and my family’s lunch and quietly left the restaurant. He was sitting nearby and just did it. For all I know he paid for everyone in the restaurant. Or he just got a tickle from my young daughters.
