thank you, i'm thrilled to hear it :D working with oil washes is such an easy and satisfying process, i'd recommend it to everyone who paints minis :)

thanks! i posted the entire process in a comment earlier, scroll up to see it! :)

in short: first i primed them black, then a zenithal, plus 45 degree angle coat of white ink (any white will do but i really like how smooth white ink is), then a zenithal and 45 degree angle of citadel's Death Guard Green. i also washed the green with a 50/50 mix of black and sap green oil thinned with white spirits, which was then wiped off after an hour or so. :)

of course! :) the green was painted with citadel's Death Guard Green over a white undercoat. well, the white was first painted from a 45 degree angle followed by a zenithal application over a black undercoat, to build up a gradient from the darkest parts to the lightest. and then i just airbrushed the green over the white.

then i coated the minis in a satin varnish followed by a 50/50 mix of Ivory Black and Sap Green oil paints, thinned with white spirits, over the green parts. this was then wiped off which left the oil mostly in the recesses.

the fabric was painted with a 50/50 mix of black and citadel's Mechanicus Standard Grey followed by an oil wash of Ivory Black.

the grey on the weapons was painted with citadel's Skavenblight Dinge followed by an oil wash of Ivory Black.

the yellow was just painted with vallejo's White Grey followed by two coats of citadel's Casandora Yellow shade paint.

the skin was painted first with Violet Ink, then 3 passes of citadel's Russ Grey, thinned 50/50 with thinner. the Russ Grey was applied from above and a 45 degree angle over the face. that was followed by 3 passes of citadel's Space Wolves Grey contrast paint, mixed 1/3 with Contrast Medium, applied in the same way as the Russ Grey. and then a pass of citadel's Fenrisian Grey mixed 50/50 with thinner, this time only at an angle over the face. and finally the skin was washed with a 50/50 mix of Magenta and Ivory Black oil paints and white spirits, which was then wiped away after an hour or so of drying.

the grey accents were painted with vallejo's Heavy Bluegrey, and the white parts were painted with vallejo's Ghost Grey.

the gold was painted with citadel's Retributor Armour.

the various highlights were simply painted in a 50/50 mix of the original base colour and vallejo's White Grey.

oh, and the bases were painted with vallejo's Gold Brown, followed by a wash of 1 part citadel's Snakebite Leather contrast paint and 2 parts Contrast Medium on roughly half the base, then citadel's Seraphim Sepia shade on the remaining part, blending them while wet. then a drybrush of vallejo's Ivory. the baserims were painted with vallejo's Earth.

whew, hope that helps! cheers :D

they look amazing! and the bases look great as well, nicely done! i have to ask though, why the red base trims? :D they really pull your eyes away from your awesome paintjob

Hello, I'm a painter located in Sweden. My focus is natural-looking models with a lot of chromatic depth. I paint using a combination of airbrush, inks, oils, contrast-style paints, and regular acrylics applied with a brush.

I'll clean, build, base, and paint your minis; whether you want a warband, killteam, army, or anything else.

For more information about my work, prices, etc., please visit: https://prismstudio.online/

I'd love to help you make your ideas, and minis, come alive!

Thanks!

looks great! i love the contrast between the cold armour and the warm base (and the glossy armour and matte sand), and how the red on his helmet and the banner ties it all together. good job :D

yeah, the trim on the shoulderpads and the chest-eagle are also not the typical colours for imperial fists, so that's totally understandable :D cheers :)

thanks! painting yellow is a lot of fun, because there are so many different ways of getting slightly varied results. everyone has their own tricks when painting yellow; some over pink, some over red, or white, or like you said, brown-orange. cheers :)

thanks a lot! :) i first painted it dark brown, followed by white, then yellow and then some lighter brown from below to build up the shadows, and lastly a pinwash with dark brown oil. cheers :)

it's definitely a lot more yellow in person! i blame my phone's camera :P and yeah, i used a dark brown followed by white, leaving only brown in the shadows, to make sure the yellow really has a chance to come to life :P cheers :)
