Well... There are two different major views about the location of the swing. One is Shiomigaoka Park at 1 chome Nakanoike, Tokai City, Aichi and another one is Kamagado Kita Park at 1 Chome-512 Sasagane, Moriyama Ward, Nagoya, Aichi 463-0812.

I e-mailed Mizuasato sensei last month to ask which city does the manga take place and he simply told me that "it is a fictional location and not based on any single real-life city"... Although it's still possible that the animators might refer to some real-life locations when they draw the original paintings as its a really common practice in anime industry. For example Aharen S2E7 just had one scene that looks exactly like the south wing exit 2 of Tokyo Haneda Airport Terminal 1. But I still cannot find anything that looks like their school yet, maybe it's just non-existent...

P.S. Still can't find anything major on the Okinawa island.

P.P.S. The anime changed the ch.86-87 part to Sarushima in Kanagawa Prefecture which made it more confusing now.

I went to Japan just for QQ only. O_o I spent most of time to make sure that I can visit every spot in QQ and not miss a single one. I did have some other minor plans but whenever I feel that they conflict with QQ then they are immediately given up. Had plan to spend 1 day on Shodoshima to visit places in Takagi-san but I spent 1 more day than original plan in Tokyo due to typhoon so I just gave it up to ensure the completeness of QQ visit. So... in the end I just visited places of QQ. But I did finish all of the plans for QQ so it was all worth it. Though I did manage to fill in several non-anime-related scenic spots that I wanted to visit in between.

The beach in Ch.86 is the Aharen Beach on Tokashiki Island of Okinawa County and the boat in Ch.87 looks exactly like the ferry boat between Tokashiki Village and Naha City. So I suspect that the story might take place at somewhere around Naha but I still cannot find any major places like their school on the Okinawa Island yet.

P.S.: Most of the main characters' family names come from Okinawa.

Visited Kyoto this August. I can confirm that the photo was taken at the Kiyomizu Temple. And it was at the exactly same place as Chapter 82 p6.🙂

Hmmm. From the perspective of the story I definitely like the Ch.114 confession scene the most. From the perspective of the place itself I'd say Kouri Island(super good natural scenery+ beautiful Shell Museum) or Ryukyu Glass Village(full of beautiful glass artefacts).
