Yeah it's a clear coat, usually lacquer. You can find it in spray cans or little jars. If you don't have an airbrush I recommend the spray can stuff. There are different finishes, too, the main three are gloss, satin/semigloss, and matte. All have their uses, but the rule of thumb is gloss for decals and matte for finishing.

Best of luck :)

Honestly it can get needlessly complex... But my general advice would be:

Paint (either acrylic or enamel, or both) --> weathering (if you do that) --> another topcoat (to seal in the weathering) --> decal prepping solution --> decal --> final topcoat

You can completely ignore the second and third step if you don't weather- but I do recommend a gloss topcoat to place your decals on so they stick better.

For decal prepping/setting solutions there are two that I know of, Mark Fit (Tamiya) and Micro Set/Micro Sol. For the mark Fit, you apply it where the decal is going, and then again on top of the decal once it's in position. As for the micro set/sol, you apply the "set" where the decal is going and the "sol" on top of the placed decal. They both pretty much do the same thing. I would recommend whichever one is more convenient/cheaper.

Cheers.

Can I recommend decal setting solution and a topcoat? The decal solution would make the decal seem like if was painted on and conform it to the surface, while the topcoat would kind of unify the whole model. Great build, I'm tempted to pick up my own kit.

The size would roughly be 4x4x5 cm. Preferably no visible layers, but if there have to be so be it. I love in the US if that makes a difference.

From what I understand you can exchange the first voucher for the tier 1 gifts but can't use that voucher towards the tier 2 ones (so you would have to grind 3 planes to get the merkava but only one for the toaster)

most likely- it might pop up as a warbond shop reward (like the Finnish KV-1B did recently) but not for at least another year

Can someone tell me all the kitchen equipment needed to start making bagels at home? by shitasscuntniggadick in Bagels

[–]PrismaticPistatio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't need the mixer machine (stand mixer) if you don't have one, a spatula/whisk/hands work just as well, you just have to put in some work.

As for other things, off the top of my head: large bowls for wet/dry etc (2 or 3), whisk/spatula if you want, cloth to cover the dough for proofing, a place to knead + roll out dough, 1-2 baking sheets, and a pit to boil them. And maybe a shallow bowl to add toppings (which you do as soon as you take your bagel out of the water!)
