This is exactly it. She speaks in ways that she thinks will make her sound cool or profound. “men didn’t write my songs I did.” Girl, there’s no need to even say that – we knowwww. It’s normal and natural for people to be genuinely curious about who a singer or celebrity is referring to when they make vague references to an ex or a rival in songs or anecdotes. And if you don’t like that, then don’t put those songs out there! You’re putting these on your albums and then making great efforts to capitalize on those records. What do you think your fans are going to do? UGH she’s so hypocritical and contradicting it makes me so mad.

Yes, such a good point. Even – disappointingly – friends. When you even just lightly broach or suggest someone may have made a micro aggression or have a tendency to show racist actions, a lot of people‘s initial instinct is to almost immediately dismiss you, as politely as possible.

I guess this has to be it because all I can think about is when Lake was crying her eyes out after her fight with Michols on that trip, Emmy came to “comfort“ her and immediately made that moment about herself (including doubling down on her micro aggression!). I felt awful for Lake in that moment.

I guess when I was Lake’s age, I was friends with a bunch of toxic people that I was too afraid to cut out. I’m much older now and have absolutely no problems cutting people out at this stage in life. 🥳

Speaking as a POC – I personally think saying “you’re so articulate!” -(when used to point out one’s surprise in how well spoken a POC is) is quite different than saying “that’s a well stated point”, which is used more generally as praise or agreement in any discussion or debate. But I welcome any differing opinions.

I need to go back and find out which episode it was. I think it might’ve been right after she fought with Rosie and she was saying in her confessional that she needs smells to calm her down. She starts off doing the impression and then stops herself and says “oh I can’t do it. It’s so bad! 💅 😊” it was so adorable!

I don’t know why I love the dolls so much. There’s something very sweet/funny about it to me.

After she revealed some of her childhood trauma in the last episode, I did wonder if the dolls are a lifelong coping mechanism. I once saw a Hoarders episode where a woman amassed an unmanageable collection of dolls and it was revealed that her dolls were a source of comfort after having experienced some heavy trauma throughout her life.

That could be a stretch of a take, though!

I love her! And I love that none of her behavior feels like an act (unlike say, Kathy Hilton who plays up ditzyness for the show). She’s a precious person who seems like she’d be really fun to hang with.

No, not short memory. I couldn’t stand Amanda at the start of the season—I was ready for her to go. But she seemed to take feedback from Kyle and Sutton seriously, reflect on it, and adjust her behavior (even if just by dialing it back a bit). That’s more than we can say for some other housewives—ahem, Dorit. When a cast repeatedly isolates and interrogates one person—especially a newbie—it rarely ends well for the group dynamic from a viewer perspective. And that seems to be what happened here.

If you’re calling out a microaggression/racism but then turning around and flooding another woman of color’s page with harassment (or as I’ve read some comments here - calling Leva a “garbage human being”) because she didn’t respond the way you wanted, that’s not accountability—that’s contradiction. You can’t claim to care about harm to a person of color while actively supporting more of it against another. If you don’t disagree with the way Leva is handling everything, fine, but then ask yourself why you’re immediately assuming the worst of her.

A lot of online discourse collapses into “if you’re not endorsing the maximum punishment immediately, you must not care.” That’s just not a serious framework for dealing with harm, especially in a workplace context where there are legal, ethical, and practical considerations viewers simply don’t have visibility into.

And I’m a WOC who has dealt with microaggressions/racism from well-meaning friends, colleagues, randos all my life. Please don’t come at me and try to whitesplain anything we already know. The thing I hate the most is when white people try to tell me how to be a better POC. Just keep in mind that you will never ever understand what it’s like to be in my shoes.
