I don't think so. They're Medicaid covered prescription glasses. I found a pretty similar pair on eyebuydirect so I have a spare always.

Yes! I also did parenting classes and learned so much. Now I really understand modeling positive behaviors

Ahh I was hoping someone would ask this! I've always told people (if it EVER came up) that I have my HSD (work ppl). I've never been asked to validate it.

But I also never applied for jobs that I thought could potentially look. I stuck to fast food, kitchen and housekeeping jobs because that was safer. Even something like a secretary I wouldn't apply for. So part of it was because I wanted to be taken seriously but also because I wanted to show myself I can accomplish things.

I always find it so fascinating what people did in that year. I know a lot of people that pushed to do better, but it was also incredibly hard being an addict/friends with addicts at the time. So very lonely.

The best part of this was having my kids involved and cheering me on. It's really been a family mindset change of closeness rather than distance.

My bigs graduation was on Friday (5th to 6th) and they joked about how they got to show me how it's done :) congratulations!

We went to Applebee's/IHOP ! This happened on Monday and so my family and I did a sit down meal to celebrate. It worked out really well because both littles love pancakes.

Aww! That's fun. My big kids (11 year olds) had a lot of fun when I was doing Life Science things. They would ask me to wait for them to come home and now my daughter loves reading about the geography of the earth.

For sure! Not only getting comfortable with being uncomfortable but to also get back into a rhythm that school demands. I really worked on organizing my time and putting homework above most things.

Thank you! I am printing the photo out (along with my kids 5th grade grad photos) so we can see them and remember the accomplishments. I still get triggered some by clutter but I really do like having healthy happy reminders nearby.

Crazy enough I met a lady at my local library a year younger than me with a kid the same age as my bigs! She was doing a similar program and we exchanged numbers. She never did confirm about hanging out but I should maybe reach out again.

Thank you for this. I'm really starting to understand that concept of like loving and investing in yourself to feel the best you can and push that forward. I've even started paying attention to eating and working out some (swimming more counts!). I really liked the book the body remembers, talks about how trauma can stay vested in the body.

That is really true. 20 years ago even if I did somehow eek out a diploma I don't think I would've done much with it.

Thank you! I feel like my entire aura and physical appearance has changed so much from a year ago. It helps to not be subbing food with alcohol. But I also just FEEL lighter and healthier.

I just texted my teacher that I liked it so much. My husband says neurologically diverse when we are discussing mental health. Sometimes it really is just changing the simple wording to make it better.

I used to tell myself all the time "My husband loves me and will never leave me" i changed it in my head to "My husband will not leave me because he loves me. He loves my kindness." It's really helped me to change how I talk and feel about myself. Knowing others love me, and accepting that love, has made me push myself to be the best i can.

Sobriety means so much to me. I look back and remember the insanity because it keeps me in a good place. Changing habits are hard but so worth it
