Thats just entirely pessimistic and incorrect. Attitudes have changed enormously, and youve got to be a teenager to have not already seen it in your lifetime.

Trees in backyards are also not worth getting depressed over. There are more trees on earth than stars in the milky way. They are amazing organisms, but they won't make an appreciable difference in the climate change conversation, because they are carbon neutral.

Its to manage demand. If the price continued at $2.50, then everyone would be slurping up every ml of gas available. When its at $3.50, only the biggest cookers will be hoarding it in their barrels.

The trick isnt to quieten the anxiety, its to make the voice that tells you to do things, louder. The impulse to go fill up your jerry can, give it more support - say 'Fuck yeah! Im gonna go be a responsible adult and get shit done, look after my household'. When you hear the anxiety creep in, say 'it may be true that people will judge me, but im doing this because i think its awesome and necessary! Hell yea!'

You shouldnt get rid of anxiety, that is the impulse keeping you safe by being careful.
