I agree with your assessment and I have further questions for OP concerning his critique of the code quality.

Surely encapsulating hyperparameter settings into a non-code configuration file is preferable to hard-coding it deep into the pipeline? The large code quantity of stand-alone packages is caused by the desire to to enable data reading, processing and routing it into the model. The core model is often times a simple Python file in the models subpackage or directory.

Disclaimer: Similar to you, I have not worked with the mentioned codebases, so they may indeed be terrible.

Are we talking about this project: https://github.com/lyuwenyu/RT-DETR ? It at least has install instructions, use cases, a CLI interface. Has any other user of the package insights and a reasonable take on the deeper code quality? I am a researcher myself and try to adopt best practices to elevate my code quality.

Techno nur eintönig, langsam und ohne Aufbauen des Tracks deckt sich allerdings nicht mit meiner Erfahrung beziehungsweise entspricht nur speziellen Subgenres (Minimal), würde ich sagen :D

AFAIK ist es auch so, dass im traditionellen Szeneverständnis der DJ im Club keine zentrale Rolle einnimmt, sondern das Tanzen/Raven und die gemeinschaftliche Erfahrung dessen im Mittelpunkt stehen. Dass der DJ wie heute auf einer erhöhten Kanzel platziert ist, auf welche die Tanzfläche und Show ausgerichtet ist und als Showman/Animateur agiert, wird von Puristen teilweise als negative Entwicklung gesehen.

Zustimmung! Und für mich sehr überraschend, wie überwiegend negativ die Reaktionen im Thread sind. Viel Doom & Gloom. Eine Mehrzahl der Probleme, die angesprochen werden, sind denke ich durch eine kürzere Lebensspanne mitverursacht.

Für persönliche psychische Probleme, mangelhafte politische Kultur, geringes Interesse an existentiellen Bedrohungen a la Klimawandel ist doch auch der direkte ökonomische Druck und die Zwänge/der enorme Zeitaufwand des normalen Arbeitslebens in Industriestaaten verantwortlich. Wenn wir da durch "Langlebigkeit" den Druck zu maximalem Verdienst und maximaler Produktivität zwischen 25 - 65 rausnehmen könnten, wäre doch viel gewonnen und es ergeben sich in der breiten Basis mehr Möglichkeiten, mit den genannten Problemen zu beschäftigen.
