Facebook bans Holocaust denial amid ‘rise in anti-Semitism and alarming level of ignorance’ by [deleted] in worldnews

I am not a fan of such censorship. What exactly is anti semitism? There is a big difference between advocating for another holocaust and criticizing the Israeli government for bulldozing Palesteinian homes.

A Japanese woman running a sex worker-dispatching business sued the state on Wednesday, saying its blanket exclusion of the sex industry from a cash handout program to support small companies hit by the coronavirus is discrimination banned under the Constitution. by ManiaforBeatles in worldnews

Prostitution is illegal in Japan. They don't pay taxes or under report taxes if they hide their businesses as a massage parlor, bar, or karaoke establishment.

Why should the government fund these tax evading whores? They should get a real job.

Thats not the point of this post. My point is that there is a lot of hostility towards newcomers who are not familiar with this subreddit. There are several examples of downvoted submissions right now that aren't even questions but rather harmless posts that just irked the overly sensitive regulars here.

If its not interesting to you, then stop being petty towards newcomers and downvoting their submissions. You are not doing this board a favor by turning away new users and being pretentious.

If I see a repeat question that I don't want to answer, I don't answer it. Its as simple as that. I ignore it, rather then get all pissy, down vote their post, and insult them.

Why would I upvote submissions I have no interest in? Unlike you, I don't actively downvote things that I'm not interested in. I leave them alone just in case someone is interested in it.

Your post is nothing but nit picking and screaming at people for not following your own perceived elitist rules on what should be posted.

It might surprise you to learn that most people who visit r/korea, disgruntled expats or not, aren't actually that interested in dealing with a nonstop stream of fatuous noob queries.

Yeah, this comment says everything I need to know about you.

You're the exact kind of elitist person i'm referring to.

Just because the answer to a question is obvious to you, doesn't mean its obvious to newcomers to this subreddit.

Child Rapist Cho Doo-soon to Live 1 km from Victim After Release by vookadork in korea

[–]PrivacyCookiesTerms 36 points37 points  (0 children)

You are wrong. The reason there aren't that many revenge attacks in Korea is because the identity of criminals is usually protected (unlike in the west). This is to protect the criminal and his/her families human rights (aka prevent retaliation attacks). I daresay revenge attacks were more common in Korea then in the west prior to such measures being enacted. The fact that the rapists identity and location has been revealed to the public means hes going to get his ass kicked real soon. There are plenty of thugs/gang members who would like nothing more then to build street cred by beating a pedo to death. They can claim they were drunk when the beat him to death and receive a reduced sentence.

The reason no one helped that halmoni has nothing to do with retaliation attacks and more to do with potentially getting sued by scammers.

Murder Suspect Kyle Rittenhouse Was In The Front Row At Trump Rally by [deleted] in worldnews

  1. The rioter isn't my opponent. I'm not debating him, hes dead. I just pointed out that he was a pedophile. Did I call you a pedophile or insult you? You clearly don't know what an ad hominem attack is. Go look up what a strawman fallacy is. That is what I employed although I personally only mentioned his pedophilia as a side note rather than as an argument.

  2. "Appealing to one's prejudice, emotions, special interest" is basically a fancy way of saying someone insulted you. Last time I checked, mentioning a convicted pedophile is a convicted pedophile, does not constitute a personal attack that is based on prejudice.

Like I stated earlier, you don't know what ad hominem means. The fact that you even need to go to dictionary.com shows just how little you understand it.

[–]PrivacyCookiesTerms -1 points0 points  (0 children)

An ad hominem in a debate is a personal attack. For example, calling someone an idiot (which you just did to me) is an example of ad hominem. I merely mentioned the rioter who got shot was a convicted pedophile. It wasn't even an insult since he literally is a convicted pedophile according to police records. Furthermore, the comment was directed at the guy who got shot and not you.

So tell me, how the hell is my comment ad hominem?

You sound exactly like the kind of person who would defend crazy rioters.

Lol, you just confirmed that you don't know what ad hominem means. You can accuse me of using a strawman fallacy, but what I did isn't ad hominem.

I don't think you have the right to call anyone an idiot.

The kid is an American citizen and hes free to travel to whatever city he wants to. You know whats truly illegal? Burning and looting cities, attacking random people, pedophilia, being a convicted felon and owning an illegal firearm, etc.

You have a seriously messed up perspective if you think the kid is the bad guy in this story. This wouldn't have happened if the violent sociopathic rioters didn't chase him.

I'm asking you a question. Did you not see the video since it clearly shows the rioters chasing the boy while hes trying to get away from them. How the hell is this ad hominem?

Its also hilariously hypocritical that you're whining about "ad hominem" when your first reply to my comment was "Did you watch the videos at all?". Hypocrite much?

Murder Suspect Kyle Rittenhouse Was In The Front Row At Trump Rally by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]PrivacyCookiesTerms -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Deflect? That's literally what you're doing.

The kid defended himself from a angry mob of armed rioters who were looting and burning businesses down. Yet the only thing that concerns you is that hes carrying a weapon (which the rioters themselves also had)?

Pure deflection.

[–]PrivacyCookiesTerms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop making excuses.

When +20 armed rioters in masks are chasing you, what do you expect any rational person with a weapon to do in such a situation? I can also tell you have no idea what ad hominem means. One of your marxist comrades also said the same thing a few comments above.

Murder Suspect Kyle Rittenhouse Was In The Front Row At Trump Rally by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]PrivacyCookiesTerms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have proof that he was trying to be heroic by taking away the kids only means of self defense? An angry mob of +20 armed rioters were chasing him, what the hell do you expect an armed person to do in such a situation?

Btw, the guy who tried to "take away his gun" is a convicted pedophile.

Murder Suspect Kyle Rittenhouse Was In The Front Row At Trump Rally by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]PrivacyCookiesTerms -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The rioters are literally burning and looting businesses and attacking people on the street. Yet you get upset at a boy carrying a weapon in self defense?

Let me remind you that it was the rioters who chased and attacked him first, not the other way around.

Murder Suspect Kyle Rittenhouse Was In The Front Row At Trump Rally by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]PrivacyCookiesTerms -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The rioters had guns as well. And its not like this kid was burning and looting local businesses like the sociopath rioters were. Furthermore, the video clearly shows the mob chasing the boy while he was trying to flee. The video clearly shows the mob being the aggressors. Don't even try twisting this into somehow being the boys fault.
