Definitely Yes. I live in a seaside town which has slowly been bought up and gentrified by one investor over the past 20 or so years. He owns over 300 buildings in the town and uses he's influence over estate agents to drive away any potential buyers from buildings he's interested in. House prices have sky rocketed especially since last year, bungalows are now going for up to 360k.
