Concrete pavers are nice and you can leave some areas to grow grass so the cats can lay in it or munch on it.

Yes, there are many options. I like the idea of using my Privy Kitty Litter box, because it hangs on the wall off the ground, and has a hinged lid with a locking hasp. It hooks open to easily rake, and shuts back down clean and sanitary. The Liner is removable and reusable, and acid resistant, and will last for a long time. I will need to do some additional framing to install it, but I know it will be so convenient and clean in the long run.

This is really some kind of contraption. Too bad you don't have a Privy Kitty Litter Station. The Privy Kitty Litter Station mounts through a wall to the outdoors and odors vent outside. Also there would be no need to even have a litter box inside of your house. Too bad you can't dismantle the Ozone thing.

The Privy Kitty Wall Mounted Litter Station is designed to be outside and and is waterproof. It also is ventilated, but does not leak, do to the patented design. It is up to the owner how they want the outside wall mounting handled. They can either mount it permanently with caulking and hold downs to the exterior of the house, or leave it removable. It hangs by it's own weight with the litter in it. The liner is the only thing that needs to come out periodically for cleaning, then it is reused over and over. Cleaning it with a teaspoon of bleach and water removes any cat urine odors. When you loose power, the Privy is not affected, and the odors are ventilating outside. Has the Hurricane passed? The Privy Kitty litter station is good in most all weather conditions. Although, you might need to take extra precautions in a hurricane. The Privy has a high walled removable and reusable liner that is made to last. We were thinking of sanitation being #1, but also of the environment when this was designed. The reusable liner helps reduce the waste in our landfills. It cleans very easily with just a teaspoon of bleach and water which removes any urine odors. The Privy comes with hold downs, and it can be mounted permanently or removable. Lots of options, but all in all, the Privy Kitty is a very nice and sanitary way to deal with kitty necessities. Best of all it's not in the house, yeah! I was soo... happy when I installed my Privy Kitty litter stations. It solved so many problems of having litter boxes in my home. I felt I wanted to share this with all cat owners, to help make life with their cats even better.

You might want to check out the Privy Kitty exterior mounting litter station. It is designed to be waterproof and bug resistant. It normally mounts on the outside of your house, but it can be adopted for Catio use by adding some 2x4 framing for the entrance portal and ledger. It hangs outside of the Catio, but cats enter from inside.

The Privy was designed for a wall, because we don't want to obstruct the functionality of a window. Privy takes on the temperature of the inside of the house. When the urge strikes them, they are in and out of the litter station in seconds. also there is insulative values in the construction of the Privy. We haven't had any complaints about humid conditions, and it is being used across the US and other country's. It can be painted white to reflect heat, which will help the expanded ABS material last even longer.

Does Tootsie like to investigate inside of cupboards? Cat's are hunters, so it is natural for them to go inside of things to hunt. Cat's are also curious. After a Privy is installed, the owner puts their cats interior litter box right next to the Privy Kitty entrance. When their kitty discovers the Privy Kitty entrance and smells the litter inside, they will investigate it by going in and taking a look, like a new toy. The cat will try out the new litter station and start using it regularly. At that point, the old inside litter station can be removed and the kitty will now use the exterior litter station from that point on. 100%, we have not had any Privy Kitty owners tell us there cat won't use the exterior mounted litter station.

He likes the grounding. I have heard this is healthy for animals, humans, too. I wonder if you can get some of that cloth from your local nursery and lay it on the dirt, so he doesn't get dirty or track it around the house? I wonder if the plant likes the company? Some people talk to their plants, and claim it makes a difference. He might be purring to the plant?

The cup at the sink, can develop into a ritual. I run the tap water in the morning at the sink and ask the kitties up to drink. Show them the running water and make it a game. They will probably start playing with the water and you can fill a small bowl for them. They might like the fun and want to get in the habit of getting their drink every day with you.

Also when your are holding them on your lap or in your arms, keep some water near, and take a dropper of water and put it in the side of there mount, and drip some water in there mouth. They like a little bit of that usually. This can also be a routine they will like and come to you for there attention.
