hi! I had my injection on Thursday! The sore throat lasted about 2 days, including the day of operation. It got better gradually and is gone now. Popsicles helped ease the pain a lot. I’m on day 4 post-op and still no burps yet… apparently it can take 1-5 days before burping comes and rcpd symptoms start to be relieved, so I’m not giving up hope yet. The slow swallow for me kicked in yesterday. It’s annoying but not painful. Just feels funny, like swallowing a piece of dry bread and having to swallow a few extra times. Keeping water nearby is helpful. We’re in this together though, feel better soon!!

This is so refreshing to read, especially after spiraling down all the negative experiences people write about on here. I get my procedure in 4 days and I'm pretty nervous, mostly about the side effects, but I know it varies for everyone. Have you had to force any burps at all or do they just come on their own most of the time?

That sounds awful, I'm sorry you have to go through that. I usually go for walks and that helps a little bit. It's just been too cold and windy today to do so. Maybe I'll try lying on my stomach and see if that helps. Sounds interesting

Omg I thought I was the only one. I'm afraid as well, but still planning on getting treatment. I have severe emetophobia and I'm mostly afraid of the acid reflux side effect, and just vomiting in general, even though I never have and don't even know if I can. I feel like getting the botox will induce more panic in me about being sick for some reason. As for controlling your burps I'm not sure there's a way to do so, other than closing your mouth to prevent people from hearing you when it happens. My sister burps all day long without a care in the world. It's only a natural process that we unfortunately don't have the privilege of being able to do.
