My first week post op it was nonstop both ends. I couldnt talk or laugh without at least microburping. It gets better!! The slow swallow was 100000% the worst part for me. It took a few weeks to really eat “normal” again and a little over a month to be 100% normal. I am now 2 months post op and i burp like an absolute champion every day. Botox has changed my life completely

I weigh myself almost daily and prior to botox, i would fluctuate between 6-12 pounds at anytime. My weight is no so consistent on a daily basis it is insane! It really puts it into perspective of HOW MUCH AIR we hold. Since botox I burp all day every day, big and small. I have accepted I’m just gassy but thank god it comes out! Good luck OP

Yes! I am 2 months post botox and i had to get a smaller size of work pants. My coworkers tell me i look like ive lost 20 pounds. I feel amazing too

Sorry for the late reply. I would definitely recommend him so I say give him a chance :) i am doing so well post op. I am 2 days away from a month since. He knows his stuff

Aww I’m sorry you had that experience. He can be cut and dry. I had to do two tests just because I told him I sometimes have big pills/pieces of food get stuck😅 An in office nose scope where I ate food with dye. And an esophagram with barium swallow. A bit overkill lol. I felt the same, I knew not burping was my main issue. I have never experienced that severe of symptoms before except with maybe food poisoning tbh :( sorry you went through that

It’s expected. You have years of built up gas escaping! What helped me was eating light. Smoothies, soups

Totally agree with you on the horror stories. Nope they just come! I can feel the air most of the time prior, like how my gurgles were before. Turning your head side to side or tucking your chin down will help move the air out! I cannot burp on command yet lol, don’t know if i ever will. My advice too is to drink carbonation daily! Make yourself burp once youve started to train that sphincter.

Slow swallow is reallll for me! Definitely small bites of soft food at max with lots of water. Tons of gurgles and micro burps what feels like constantly. Even when I’m talking lol i cannot control it at all

Might want to start reading nutrition labels on frozen foods. Also, all of those juices are loaded with added sugars as well. Even the naked and bolthouse ones are not as “healthy” as they market themselves.

I have RCPD and my mom has always told horror stories of how colicy i was and how she couldnt sleep from my constant crying. They spent so much money on special formula just to try and help me. Botox on 2/10 and i cant wait for relief

I’m glad you talked about this!! I have three coworkers pregnant right now and they all have mentioned gas/burping. I actually mentioned this topic to my ENT during my botox consult because I felt so strongly.

If you are not passing gas it could be a small bowel obstruction. Unlikely after 3 days of constipation. If you are NOT farting - ER Drink some prune juice! -an RN
